Well, if you Texans ever want some help from your northern kin...

Have PKM, will travel.

(Would LOVE to mount that in the door of a helicopter for a day... and would pay good money to do so... just saying)

I'm good at making money. And even better at finding creative ways to lose it.

You just can't kill them as fast as they make 'new ones'.

No he doesn't, just needs to get them lined up in a row then take 4-5 down in one trigger pull.

Flint,

I think its time you applied an 1860's solution to a 2013 problem. What you need to go with all your fine intel and hog studies is a well organized & outfitted 30 man hunting party with all the modern amenities of heavy equipment and large capacity heavy caliber semi auto arms.

Set up an ideally planned killing field to lure the hogs into and have the team waiting in ambush with interlocking fields of fire. Wait till the whole group is focused on feeding and have the team members pick out a single hog each and open up on the whole group simultaneously.

Shouldn't take long to solve the problem in my mind. History is your friend here for figuring out how to do mass eradication here (and I thought the only lesson to be learned from the Buffalo kills was that humans have wasteful tendencies).

Mr Humpback, You really do not understand the magnitude of the problem here in Texas.

I know flints Father does not want outsiders hunting on the property but Have gun will Travel is my motto. Even have the 458 though no pile drivers yet. The 405's should do a number though.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, the 405 Remy (pictured next to last ) is a great bullet for either the .458 SOCOM or the venerable 45/70.

These are the different bullets I currently load for the SOCOM, but the 405 Remy sees more ‘duty’ than any of the others.

Do those all feed OK through the SOCOM? Or do you single feed them?

Everything feeds great through it, except the 540 grain Piledriver (#10).

Sometimes the very last cartridge in the magazine will hang up, but not often. The meplat alone is .375"

540 gr. Piledriver:

Pure awesomeness. I've got all the parts to build another complete AR other than a barrel and bolt for 458. Just waiting for the frenzy to settle down.

Those little red squealers look like they'd real tasty.

Do you think they'd keep that color as they matured or will they darken?

Yea I made up some of the 405's for my last range trip. But they had a feeding problem so I did not get the testing done. Soon as I can I will head back out and try again. Think I got the feeding problem solved but won't know for sure until I run the loads again. Now I will be getting all my stock loaded up. I really want to do some of those PileDrivers. THey look like one heck of a round. Oh well will have to do with the 405's and all the others for now.

Have you had any problems with the gas check coming loose inside the case?
