Hello All,
New to the forum and got reacquainted with shooting and guns in the last couple of years after concentrating on other things for the past few years. I've been lurking on some of these sites for the past few months and decided to join THR. I like the amount of information on all areas of firearms available from knowledgable sources. I'm mostly interested in HD and shooting for fun, targets, etc. I have a Rem 870P Mag 12 ga. all stock no bells or whistles, Rossi 357/38 lever action, .38 snub cheapie and a Ruger SR45 on order. Been gathering ammo for the last year or so and have somewhat of a supply for all. Whenever I pass a Wallyworld I stop in and buy the rounds I need if they are in stock. Thanks to all who share their knowledge with us unfortunates who know less about weapons and what is appropriate for various uses; HD, carry, messing around with targets and etc. |

Hello Carl,
I was glad to read that you're from Germany, too. Where did you live here? Would be nice to chat a little bit with an "ex-german" who moved to the US :-) Greetings, Betty |

NEW
Greetings from Idaho, the land of bacon bits, chives and sour cream...or was that potatoes?
Although I have been around guns all of my life and have my CWL, my recent purchase, Ruger 556e, will join my favorite SW Airlight and the ever present 870 in the cabinet and I will be checking out the info here so I can properly populate my new arrival. It is at the smithy now where he is doing the trigger and a few other goodies. The scope is left up to me and I will be checking out the latest here on Highroad before I buy. I swear, I have NEVER seen so many options for a platform of any kind or in any other item on earth! I will be taking it to one of the few long range venues in the area even though we have plenty of open spaces close by. It is there I may find my future EX wife, and I want to make sure I am well practiced. For some reason I want to get good at long range shooting and want to see just how far this baby will be letting me reach on a consistent basis. If I am good at golf putting and billiards, it may carry over, I dunno. My salesman at Sports Authority promised me 3 boxes of ammo when the shipment arrived a few days after the buy. He found it in his heart to sell me 10! Since then, I have seen scant inventories and like you, I am wondering if I should hold on to the 10 just in case the SHTF, or just go out and shoot 6-7 and hoard the rest. What say you?

Hi all. Another newbie here. I`m from Indiana, just retired. As my handle says, I love guns. and that is pretty much all guns. However I am totally new to shotguns, just recently acquired my first 2, a Mossberg 500 and a H&R Pardner. Both are 12 gauge. So I probably will be asking lots of questions about them.
I`m a gamer, I love heavy metal music, blues music, and I still play guitar, ha ha go figure that one. |

Howdy..I am an old Texas boy and fairly recently retired long time po po. I come over to shoot the bull. I have a Sig P 226 of which I am mighty proud and a NAA mini .22 which been in the family for years and has recently been refurbished up to show room specs. Also a rusty .12 gauge single shot in the front closet...but no shells for that presently. Mighty nice to meet all. Like the old rectum adage as compared to opinions..we all got em and I got a bunch..lol. Kindly dont axe me stuff unless you want to know something..lol.

Hahaha Bingo!!! That's what I do))) But I really love it..that's very interesting.. I can' imagine my life now without this job. The most pleasurable out of this all is to get my friends together for a couple of beers and tell them all of my stories.. it's a lot of fun

Hey, nice to see a girl from Germany here! ![]() Why don't you join a shooting club, so you can buy your own firearms? The German Reservists' Association (Reservistenverband) is recognized as a shooters' association and would surely accept an active soldier. They demand very modest fees, don't bother with airgun shooting and don't frown upon military-style handguns or rifles. PN me if you'd like to have more information. |

Hi all, Retired Army here. Just looking to get more informed. This site came well recomended.
Have a few weapons, the ones that are most notable are my SCAR 17S(real pain to find 308 for at the momment without breaking into my SHTF stash) and S&W M&P 40 Pro and few others for home defense and plinking. Other then that learning to enjoy life again in TN. On here I mainly plan on lurking and learning. Hope ya'll have a good day. ATW |

In the US there are more female gun lovers than here in Germany, I suppose? This forum is just amazing, read here a lot and decided to finally make an account.... |

Greetings!....
My name is Tim. I am retiring from the FD after 35 years in Nov. Just got a hip replaced, they're planning on doing the other side in June. I love the out doors, being around the water. I shoot, fly fish, camp, have just taken up reloading and have lots of questions. Married 27 years, 5 kids (all girls), Christian. Looking forward to building some new friendships here. Weapons include M14, M1, AR, 12 Ga., two 9mm pistols, .22 pistol and all the girls have 10/22s. Don't hesitate to intro yourself if you are located near Temecula, CA. Would enjoy meeting you.

newbie
Thanks everyone,
I purchased my first handgun two years ago without seeking any advice. Big mistake. I have since learned a lot from the members here visiting as a guest and now a member. I encourage anyone interested in getting into handguns to tap into the vast knowledge available here. I have since purchased two more revolvers and with your help, have made the right decisions. It would only be fair to warn newbies that they will likely be hooked. I have it bad! Thanks again to all members......p.s..I now reload...guess thats phase 2. LoL |
