De bubba-ize it. I'm in the process of doing that on a Turkish Mauser.

It's too far gone for that one. The barrel has been chopped and the front sight is nothing more than a wedge of steel hard-soldered to the barrel. Trust me, if it had a full length barrel, it would be headed that direction.

I just got a Weatherby Vanguard .257 Wby mag in a Boyds laminated thumbhole stock, dies, 350 bullets, 100 brass, and a full box of 100 gn TSX factory ammo. Got the factory synthetic stock as well.
Traded an old A-Bolt .338 Win Mag, dies, brass, and bullets for it.

I guess I got lucky then, they only messed up the stock on mine.

Colt 901 Modular rifle. Don't ask what it cost as it was well above MSRP and painful.

Next, both are still NIB. I have not had time to at least verify reliability. It will be more than a month before I will have a day off. Because of no days off, I have these two plus four more guns that are still NIB. To answer your question, I prefer the fit of the Ruger as opposed to the Remington.

Last month I was thrilled to find a clean Ruger GP101 for well under $500. And about 2 months ago I purchased a new Springfield Arms XDs....which is already in for warranty work.

Always wanted a S&W 3913 and for some reason never got one but I stumbled across this the other night and had to bring it home.

Bought a new Para Ord. Elite Stainless yesterday. Really was looking forward to taking it home but was held up. I can wait for a few days.

GSG 522 that I bought a couple weeks ago. Finally got to go shoot it today. It was a blast. I only got to shoot maybe 50 rounds out of it...my wife shot the other 250.

Took a road trip today to Independence Firearms in Brenham, Texas. Went there to pick up a Sig-Sauer P226X5 Golden Dragon.

End up also picking up these two for my wife.
Sig-Sauer P238

And this Core-15 with Muddy Girl magpul furniture.
