Wilson .45 with red dot scope...

Maybe this is the right place to post this, no response at all on the autoloader page. I've got a line on a wilson, hardly ever been shot, all set up for the range. The asking price is $1100. I'm just looking for input on the firearm itself because I'm not familiar with them and I'd like to get an idea as to whether this price is somewhat reasonable for what I'm getting. Yes, I intend to compete with it. So look out...

280, I guess it depends. Could you give us any more information about the gun? There are a lot of Wilsons out there in the world, ranging from early custom jobs done by Bill Wilson himself, to their current in house production stuff. Custom jobs can cost a small fortune. His current base production guns run from the low $1000 range to way up there.

Also how abused is the gun? What kind of red dot? Is it worn out? Red dots can range from $30 el-cheapo bb gun sights to $300-$500.

But if I was to hazard a guess I would say that $1100 is very reasonable for most Wilsons. But more info would be very helpfull.

Yea, I did some looking around so I see now theres a little more to know than just the name. I know its relatively new/unused and i'm figuring its probably from the lower end of the spectrum, unless it's my lucky day. To the best of my knowledge it was not abused. As far as the red dot, I didnt pay attention to the brand, it was a 1" and I figure nobody would put junk on an otherwise top quality piece. Plus it belongs to my trustworthy independent gun dealer who usually steers me in the right direction. Actually, I'm not really capapble of spending the $ right at this moment but I'm just trying to get a feel for these hot shot target .45's so when I do get ahead enough I'll have a good idea of what I'm doing. When I buy I like to do it right the first time. I can't be wasting that kind of ching on guns that won't work for me. I think I'll talk him into letting me take it to the range for a test drive. Thanx for the input. When I know the details I'll probably post again. Would this be the best forum? The autoloader page doesn't seem to have a whole lot of competetive shooters on it.

This would probably be the best place to ask.

One thing to keep in mind. Before you shell out your hard earned money for the gun, decide what game you really want to play. All of the various games have rules as to what kind of guns you can and cannot use. In the games I usually play I can't use ported guns or red dots. It just depends on what you are looking to do.

i'm thinking about 900/1800 targets at 25 yds...next season.

i got a 291 best at 50 ft with a ruger mk II and this is my first season so i'm thinking with a little more practice...
