Pics of your throwers

After seeing all of the other picture posting threads, I haven't run across this one yet.

Actually, I just wanted to see if anyone could tell me anything about this one. I need to clean it up to be able to read what is written on it. It used to have a leather strap on the handle. It works a lot better than those red hand throwers from walmart.

edited because i forgot the picture

Hmmmmm

One of my younger years shooting buddies had one of those. As I sort of very vaguely recall, was made/marketed by Outers, but don't actually hold me to that.....was at least 30 years ago.

Darnit, I hate it when pieces of my childhood turn up as antiques.

A thrower like that was where it all started, in our back pasture with a shotgun or two, some shells, that thrower and a case of White Flyers.

That was the mid to late 50s.

Well, from what I can read on the thrower here is the information:

on the top side of it:
WESTERN CARTRIDGE CO.
DIVISION OF OLIN INDUSTRIES INC.
EAST ALTON ILL. U.S.A.

on the bottom side:
U.S. PAT. 1,865,173
MADE IN U.S.A.

There used to be a label on the handle. Looks like it was gold with maroon and black letters.

Cool

I have one of those too, hanging in my garage with a coat of WD-40 on it.
Mine says Remington on it. Got it about 35 years ago.

My red plastic wallyworld special works pretty well- especially since I zip tied a 4 ft "cheater bar" to the handle and wrapped it with baseball bat grip tape. It'll zing 'em out pretty darn fast!

It was made by Olin and I got one on ebay a while back for $15 some elbow grease and WD40 and it looks brand new. Keep your eye on ebay and you canprobably find one.

I bought a new shotgun shell reloader off Ebay recently. The guy threw one of those in the box when he shipped it to me. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.

I love those little red Wally World throwers myself.

My girlfriend's dad lets us use his Hoppes mechanical thrower, but the parts that are supposed to stick into the ground are weak and the dirt at my range is hard as hell, so the legs bend when we try to set it up (it also works itself loose from the ground after a few throws, the soil at the range sucks).
We've gone back to the red plastic thrower for now.

Are the Trius One-Step traps as great as I keep hearing? Does the recoil cause it to walk across the ground?

Trius owner here. Yes the Trius traps are all they're cracked up to be. If you plant your foot solidly on the step when you throw, it jumps a bit but don't walk too much at all if any. The pointy legs wont bend with the Trius even if the ground is hard. It can also be bolted to a spare tire (which I didn't do) to give it more stability. Arc of throw is adjustable up & down

The spring is adjustable in that you can loosen it to slow the speed down, or tighten it up to really zing em fast, cool! It also came with a metal attackment that wingnuts to the arm so you can fling pop or soup cans also.

I've used the red hand throwers and they are good, but the Trius is the cadillac and I've never looked back.
