I have been a shooter for over 35 years, a reloader for over 30, and had my CCP for around 25. I have visited this site many times and thought maybe I would join and add my opinions to the fray. I started hunting at an early age and have bought and sold guns ever since. I am in no way an expert, but I have read about and studied guns for years. I did my service to my country, believe in the right to defend life and property, and believe that ownership of more than one handgun, rifle and shotgun is a hobby, not a neccesity. As for my collection;
Ruger Mark II target Beretta 21A Early 70's Colt Frontier Original Ruger Bearcat Ruger new model 32 H&R Manurhin PPK/S 380 auto Beretta 8000 couger Beretta 96F Colt Python, 6" royal blue Sig Sauer 220P Kimber 45 ultra carry Ruger Super Blackhawk Stainless Taurus M44 stainless 1959 S&W Model 29 Browning 92 in 44 mag Marlin 1894 in 44 mag 2 ruger 10-22's Ruger Mark 1 in 270, Mark 2 in 243 Browning BBR in 22-250 Winchester Model 67-22 1920's Winchester 94 in 30WCF, with original octogon barrel Browning Citori, 12 guage Field grade And a few others not worthy of mention. I am always looking for something that awakes the "gotta have it" in me. As a responsible owner, all but one are stored in a 26x36x72 National Security fire resistant safe bolted to the floor. Finally, like someone said before me, there has to be room for gun tote'n conservatives somewhere. |

Fraom across the pond....
comes my "Hello to everyone here!"
Just found THIS thread and I think its a good idea. I am from Germany, 37 yo. and started handgunning at the late age of 24. Before that I did archery (first longbow, then compound, 3 years) but cant find the time for neither of these bows anymore. I got a Ruger 22 (Mk II) and a 1911, both competition only guns. (Carrying is nearly impossible over her for the average Joe.) Long guns: Due to lack of talent I will save myself from that humiliation . Ok prone is ok, but offhand... Lately I started reloading, to save money and because my Springer spreads 6 " with commercial ammo....it just likes lead bullets. So shall it be, I will feed those in the future. Greets Carsten |

Howdy, I am brand new. I enjoy pistol and carbine shooting, and reload for pistol, with rifle reloads coming soon. I am pursuing my NRA instructor certification and would like to take on a more formalized role in introducing shooting to those who aren't in love with it yet.
When I'm not increasing the value of my Red's membership in South Austin, I'm farting around on my computer, rock climbing, riding my R6, enjoying local Austin bands like Reckless Kelly or traveling. And while I'm writing up this intro, if you rock climb, and you need someone to belay for you, please let me know as I don't have a regular rock climbing partner or group (I'm just getting started), and would like to do more top rope or lead climbing and will be happy to trade off belaying duties! Welcome to THR!
We're all here because we belive that there is still something positive that we can each do to preserve our right to keep and bear arms. One of those things is demonstrate to the world that gun owners are rational reasonable respectful people just like most folks we know and admire. Enjoy!

New member from NC
I just recently escaped from California and settled in to the Charlotte area in NC. To go back even further I have to mention that I was born in Hungary before the Iron Curtain fell and grew up in a gun-deprived, communist country. Growing up there I always had an admiration for the freedoms Americans enjoyed and was longing to experience them. Now I am an American and am enjoying those freedoms.
I am into all aspects of guns. Love their history, love shooting them, love collecting them, love hunting, and also love to have the right to defend myself and my loved ones with an effective tool (guns). Any of you from around here? thanks, vk704 |

I am the Wife and Mother of a couple of Gunnuts. I have learned more about guns in the last few years then I ever wanted to know. I have been doing some research on some antique guns that we acquired and that is how I ended up here.

Well, I am not really a new member but I have been gone for a while. I asked to have my account closed but now signed up again with the same user name.
I am a retired police officer and firearms instructor for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. My main interest is handguns, both revolvers and semi-autos. I own three, a Smith & Wesson model 15-3 .38 Special revolver, a Smith & Wesson model 640 .38 Special revolver, and a Glock 17 9mm pistol. I also own two shotguns, a 12 gauge Remington 870 Express and a old European made 16 gauge side by side. I have arthritis pretty bad and my wrists and elbows cause me a lot of problems so I am very limited with regards to what I can shoot and how much. Anyway, it is good to be back. |

hello all
a co-worker of mine turned me on to this site. it looks to be an extremely active site, unlike some other (non-gun) ones that i belong to.
i started shooting in 1993 (in ********** of all places) and just got deeper and deeper into the hobby/sport/obsession or whatever you want to call it, ever since ![]() i now reside in Arizona and own a little bit of everything: revolvers, pistols, bolt action & autoloading rifles, submachine guns, suppressors, and shotguns. but my favorite by far is trapshooting looking forward to conversing with you all.

I have been reading here for a couple of weeks. I have learned alot here.
I grew up in rural Colorado and thought I new more about guns than I needed too, so its been nice to find so many people like me. If there is a season I hunt it, and if there is no season open I am target shooting for the next one. I live in Kansas and CCL licenses just started coming out and I stumbled across this thread while researching J frames. I have gotten alot of good information from people here and really enjoy all the reading. The 642 club thread is awsome./ |

This March the gun show in Chantilly is coming and I will be looking for a 357 to buy. All the information on this board is great. I have learned alot and continue everyday. Thanks for everyone that has answered some of my questions.

Hello all. My name is Mike and I'm from California, but please don't hold that against me.
I've been shooting for since I was six, so I've got some lead under my belt. My hobbies are shooting any firearm I can get my hands on, reloading and archery. |

Hello, everyone. I just discovered this site, liked what I saw so I decided to sign on. Currently I spend most of my recreational time shooting IDPA matches with my XD45. I have a broad interest in firearms, but like many gun enthusiasts my eyes are often bigger than my wallet.
I'm a Vietnam vet who served back-to-back combat tours (First Cav & MACV Special Ops). I led a sniper team in Nam and twice was a member of Army pistol teams while Stateside. I look forward to hearing from the members and learning from your experiences while sharing some of mine. |
