Hey everyone!
I just got my 1st rifle, a Mossberg 100 ATR .270 win. I live in NW Houston and had an appreciation for guns starting with my Co2 BB gun when I was a kid, .22 when I was a young Boy Scout, all kinds of fun guns when I was in the US Army (82nd Airborne Div, 407th S&S Bn. '84-'87). I've been married to a wonderful wife for 9 years and we have 2 kids, a 2.5 year old daughter and 4.5 year old son. I hope to raise them around guns, hunting, outdoors, and more importantly safe and responsible gun ownership. I found THR by doing research on low-end, entry level rifles. There's a lot of discussion about the Mossberg 100 around the net and I was able to make an informed decision as to how to spend what little money I had to get a halfway decent rifle. ![]() I look forward to a lot of reading on here and getting to know more of you! |

ive been lurking on THR for a long time now but just recently decided to register. i didnt see this thread when i first registered but i guess its better late than never!
my name is michael. im 19 and live in colorado. i missed out on alot of shooting opportunites due to my dad passing away when i was six, but my uncle and grandpa did what they could for me. my first gun was a WWII army issue colt 1911 with silver grips with gold plating that i inherited from my dad. my first purchase was a 12g Maverick 88 that i bought in october of 08 and since then i have also bought a 12g mossberg 500, XD-9 sc, a DMPS AP4, and an M-16 (eagle arms lower and 20" dpms upper) with my next purchase to hopefully be either another 1911 or a remington 700 in .308. im into just about all "gun stuff". i usually just lurk the forums and learn as much as i can, but you'll see me chime in every now and then. |

New member in South Carolina
Hey all,
Just joined up. I'm finishing school and will be sitting for the SC Bar in July, so I need something to alleviate the drudgery. I've also come to realize - and I'm overstating it a bit - that I basically have the equipment, but not the knowledge. My main interests off the bat will be rifle marksmanship and getting my reloading setup going. Pistolcraft will follow later. I've found my way here many times via random Googlery, so joining up is long overdue. For other guys in the Midlands of SC, I'll be joining Mid Carolina Rifle Club at the Monday meeting. |

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for having me. While I am new to this board, I am not new to blogging. Cut my teeth on political and college football forums. I am a proud card carrying member of the NRA and and active Republican. I am a long gun type of guy that enjoys target shooting with my family. Nothing fancy or too competitive, just shot on the range for fun. Look forward to engaging conversations with the other members to learn something new each day. |

Hi, I have been reading here off and on and decided to join so I can post. I am a college student trying to build my armory before it becomes illegal. I have a pretty good start, and am looking to add an "assault rifle" (by liberal definition for lack of better description) to my collection.
I currently live in NC and VA (school). I have taken my Concealed Carry class, and am applying for the permit next week. -Jwhite3 |

hi, been coming to the site for a while looking for answers to some questions that I had, finally decided to sign up so I could include some of my knowledge on shooting and reloading. In the ARMY, so most of collection has to stay in KY, but with me I have a Taurus PT-145 Mill-Pro, Taurus M85UL, and Steyr M40. working on loads for the 85UL, but got loads for other two down to 1/4 " group at 25 yards for PT-145, and smaller grouping with Steyr M40. Here to accept advice, also here to give advice. see yall in the forums.

Hi! I'm kyle. I have always had an interest in firearms and ballistics. I live in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. We enjoy rather relaxed gun laws here which I came to discover after living in Ohio. I'm an embalmer & funeral director and realize the immense respect we should have for guns, the need for them, and the real damage they are capable of in the wrong hands.

Hi...
New here....lurked for quite awhile and took advantage of some great data and info posted on here. Finally decided to sign up. My interests are both handguns and bench-rest rifles and the reloading for both. Favorite pistol is a recently purchased CZ PO-1 and favorite rifle is a Rem. 700 varmint in .308 Win. I live way out in the country in SW Louisiana where its still not against the law to like and use firearms...

Greetings. New member from the State of Florida. I'm currently with the US Navy on an Individual Augmentee assignment in the Sandbox where I carry an M4A1 and M9 everywhere I go.
My personal weapons at home are a Marlin .22LR bolt rifle owned since the age of seven, and two handguns a H&K USP .45 compact and an IMI Jericho 941F in 9mm. I've got the .45 and 9mm for home defense. I usually load hollowpoints for the .45 for stopping power and maximum damage for the unwary attacker. My next weapon I'm thinking of buying is an M1A supermatch with a Sage Arms stock (I'm still trying to figure on a telescopic sight) or modifying an AR-15 to as close to SPR specs as possible.
