I found this place last week, pretty active forum and lots of good topics. I have some long guns but my pistol fetish is what's driving me now.... I've got a few, Walther, Beretta, S&W, Kahr. Always looking for CCW options...

hey guys,
Well my name is Jon and I am now officially a gun collector, my father (an avid collector himself) gave me a remington 510 rifle for X-Mas this year so my main interest is in rifles, I care little for shotguns or handguns (Besides winchester lever-action shotguns and a few HK .45s i've shot) Keep in mind one thing, I'm sort of ignorant on most gun stuff, and because I'm underage (for a year) I don't buy ammo or guns myself, and I only shoot 'em at ranges and private property I have permission on. |

Howdy all!!!
Started shooting competitively at 16 with a Sweet 16 but that died off after HS due to going to college. Done some hunting with the 16 (got a turkey with it) and a 12ga Gold Fusion (got a deer with it recently). Got bit with the collector/tactical bug recently. I'm eyeing a Browning Maxus 12ga and a BAR Zenith in 30-06 for when I graduate. Look forward to learning alot about collecting, tactical, and reloading. |

Hello from Ohio.
I grew up shooting mostly handguns and then fell out of it. But i'm older more stable and have that itch. I realy like revolvers just my thing. I currently have a 9mm auto, and a couple shot guns, but I am looking to buy a couple revolvers this year. So I have been wondering around the net digging up information on the things I like. |

Howdy from Indy
I'm new to this forum and I think I'm in the right place! Forgive me for remaining anonymous, but I have a rather unique name.
I've been interested in Firearms ever since I sneaked into my Grandfathers spare bedroom (aka: his gun room). He never had any use for handguns, but his room had steamer trunks w/all sorts of foreign stickers and the walls were lined w/long guns. I've owned in excess of 200 firearms and currently possess the following: Made in the USA Colt 1911 Combat Commander .45 ACP Colt 1911A1 (1924) ,45 ACP w/an old Service Ace set up Colt LE6920 5.56 mm Colt New Frontier Buntline (7.5") .22 LR/mag Colt New Frontier Buntline (7.5") .22 LR/mag Colt Python (4" BSS) .357 mag. USFA Rodeo (4 5/8") .45 LC All Others Beretta 1201FP 12 ga. Beretta 85FS .380 ACP Beretta 87 .22 LR Glock 17 Glock 19 H&K 4 .22/.25/.32/380 ACP H&K 45 H&K Mk 23 H&K P30 H&K VP70Z Rizzini S2000 12 ga. Which is why I do not own just one. Keep your power dry. |

Ahoy There
I lived most of my live in the Golden State, about five years ago I moved to the Silver State. The only regret I have is that I didn't move sooner.
I enjoy hunting, shooting, and reloading. I do not specialize in any one area, I prefer to experience different aspects of these sports. I am a fair shot, I have my good days and my bad days. I should practice more, but who has the time. I hope to learn from the rest of you and maybe contribute some of my limited knowledge to you guys. |

Another new Ohio member
Hello all,
I'm relatively new to guns, having purchased a Taurus PT1911 about 11 months ago, and a 92FS about 5 months after that. So far, my interests are focused on pistols, and I'm considering a CCW permit this year. Great forum by the way; my google searches have often ended up here. John

Hello Fellow Shooters
I'm new to the forum but not to the shooting sports. I have hunted for 35 years and taken many species of game in more than a few countries. I still love hunting local whitetails the most with bow, shotgun, rifle and handgun.
I love to work on rifles and loads to see what works. Shooting small groups at long distance is challenging and fun. I've lurked around for a very long time, visiting this forum for information on the latest and greatest. Figured it was time to join. Happy New Year! |

New here--from Louisiana
I have visited here a few times following google searches, and finally decided to sign up. Something about the name always interested me.
Lifelong shooter, mostly S & W revolvers growing up, and I have a preference for Sigs. A little shotgunning, blackpowder, and bolt actions mixed in. I am an attorney, educator, business owner, and NRA handgun instructor. |

Welcome all to one of the few firearms forums where mature civil discussion (not fights) is the norm instead the exception.

happy new year
like a lot of folks i ran across this forum by searching for information concerning handguns. i've owned guns most of my life but only recently got involved with handguns. weirdly, my 11 year old playing cod4 started us talking about shooting. we visited our range in town and found we both enjoyed target shooting. it's been a great way to spend time together, improve our skills and a chance for me to teach "safety first" to my son. we shot my s&w 910 for a while and i decided to get my carry permit here in tn. i went to purchase a compact m&p but fell in love with the hk p30. i've caught a lot of slack for owning an "expensive" pistol...including from my carry permit instructor but i feel comfortable with this pistol and i'm more accurate with the p30 than others i've tried. i'm trying to decide on a sub compact. i'm leaning toward the fnp, fnx or xdm. i love the look and feel of the kimber and colt 1911's but still trying to decide. a few things i've learned in a short time in the pistol world... my gun is awesome...yours sucks this brand is awesome...yours sucks i can shot a 1" group at three football fields with mine 1911's are old school...polymer rules 1911's have been here since 1911...if it aint broke... you have to ccw a 87 caliber ...you know those elephants are mean if you're a liberal you are automatically anti gun i have also learned i love reading reviews and opinions i love learning from other people's experience and expertise i'll own and shoot what i like i like my ruger lcp liberal politicians historically have been anti gun ownership or lean to extreme regulations i,m waiting for my permit and i am scheduled to take several advanced classes. i'm not sure what bothers or scares me more. that fact that any unexperienced, irresponsible person can carry a firearm or that i have to jump through hoops to enjoy/have my 2nd amendment rights. handgun ownership has really made me aware of the gov't thumb on that right. i pray two things. that i will never have to use my handgun in self defense and that if i do, i can. i appreciate the chance to be in this forum. |

Back into guns
Hello
I am a US Army Vet with 30 years of US Govt Service. When I was 16, my first gun which was a Winchester single shot 12 GA that used to kick like a mule, I shot trap with it but my shoulder couldn't take it so I got a Remington 1100 which was a pleasure to shoot. I've a little experience with pistols with my father's SW .357 mag handgun which he got engraved in Japan after he got out of the Korean war and the .45's we used in the military. Lost track with family other hobbies etc and recently got back interested into guns again and purchased my dream Citori and plan to get back into the fun of shooting. I am looking forward to being part of this informative forum. Thanks Mike |
