Hi all,

I just registered today but have on occasion come to this site looking for opinions and/or answers to shooting related questions and usually found what I was looking for so I thought I best go-ahead and register.

I live in North East NC, I'm an ex-Marine (68-72), I hunt and reload several rifle calibers -30-06, 270, 270WSM, 243 and most recently 223. I hope I can contribute something usefull to the forum since as I said above, I have received much usefull into from my past visits here.

Seeking to learn

Hi, I'm a new member. My name is Jose, I just started to be very interested about guns which seems very fun to me, but is embarrassing the fact that I know not anything about gun. I would appreciate all the information you could give me!

Hello all,

Just wanted to post here first to say hello. I'm a male in my mid 20s from PA. I have enjoyed shooting for a while now, and also enjoy camping, hunting and the outdoors in general. I hope to be able to contribute to this forum's knowledge and have already learned a lot from other members.

Additionally, I have a youtube channel where I review guns, gear other related items.... please check it out and subscribe if you like it!

Hello all. Just joined. I am retired so I can devote almost all my time to either shooting, reloading, being a Range Officer, and teaching young adults marksmanship and if they show an interest how to reload.

My favorite shooting is with handguns, revolvers with 6" bbls. I like to shoot 100 and 200yds. My handgun calibers are; .38 Spl., .357 Mag., .44 Spl. and .44 Mag., and .45 ACP.

I cast my own bullets and prefer SWC for all.

Hello people.

Just getting started on this site.
Bit about me: Avid hunter of Alaskan bears with my Native friends. Crazy about the .338 Lapua Magnum rounds I have been shooting at the range. So far on that topic its a tie-up on the McMillan TAC.338 and the Barret 98B rifle platforms. Still looking for the right .338 in south-paw bolt action. Cant find the right one just yet. Hopefully I will find people who are in the same position on the southpaw rifle topics.

Personal collection includes Ruger Super Red Hawk Alaskan in .454 Cassull rounds. Has one kick but it does the job when I have to get within 50 feet of a downed bear. Then again they do have some thick skulls.

howdy the names Justin

I've been looking at THR multiple times a day for about 2 weeks and I appreciated the friendly atmosphere so much decided to join the fun! I have just recently had the financial and legal ability (due to age) to buy but I've shot my whole life, I love em all but simpler action styles like bolt-actions, single shot breakdowns, pumps, and revolvers have my heart

Hi Anotherkevin,

Welcome, I'm new at this site as well. What caught my eye about your post was your interest in the simple Enfield 303. I have never owned one but when I was a kid in the late 50's they could be bought in a local hardware store for cheap along with the 303 jungle carbine which I would have bought had I been permitted. They don't have a reputation for great accuracy but neither does the 30-30 and it's still a very popular gun.
You picked a most beautiful part of the country to live in. I have hunted in Colorado a couple times years ago in the White River National Forest and I don't believe any place in heaven or earth is any more beautiful so count yourself a lucky man to live where you do.

Cool Another newbee

Hi folks,
I'm new to the group. Held an FFL, in the past. Was going through a divorce at the time and my renewal app was in my safe and the court wouldn;t let me go into the house without the ex's permission, and we all know how agreeable they can be. I contacted that ATF for another form, but it never came, so I lost the license. Oh well, have to start from scratch to get another one.

I currently have a couple of Enfield 308's, an SKS, Win 30-30, Mosberg 20ga, and a Taurus PT-111. Used to have quite a few more, but I had a break in and they took 2 Tec-9's, 2 high points, and my Browning Hi-Power. All except the Browning were new in the box.

Hope to find out some info about the guns I have and will help answering questions when I can.

New poster, old(er) guncrank

Hello the camp! Call me a day late and a dollar 298 short. Clicked on Shot Show post and saw reference to Firefly. Just finished disc 2 last night. Always figured Joss Whedon should have used his gazillions from Buffy to carry show himself.

Pun spelled backwards is 'nup', and that enup of that. My main focus is CAS, esp black powder cartridge and c'n'b. I recently sold my Colts and am building some black rifles, FALs and ARs. While retired, there is no down time, between casting boolits, smelting ww (500# to go), wood butchering and taking the plastic palace (30-ft 5th wheel) to kaboy shoots.

See ya round the campfire.

Hello

Well, I've lived in Miami since I got out of the USAF in 1974. NRA member since the '80s. Professionally, I work in computers and telephony. I've owned firearms as long as I can remember, which means I ought to be a better shot than I am

I've gotten so much that is useful from THR in the past that I decided it would be good to join and maybe give something useful back from time to time.

Smile New Guy

Hello to all. I have been raised around firearms my whole life, but showed little interest until in my early teens.
After a 10 year hiatus from guns and now in my 40's, I am a bit more inquisitive about firearms and hunger to learn more.
I am especially interested in reloading.

New to the forum, but not new to the 'net or to message boards. I can behave myself and do enjoy a spirited discussion; as long as the subject stays on point and within the confines of what is expected here (hence "The High Road" ).

I look forward to participating here, as time permits.

My collection is small, but includes some C&R weapons as well as some newer classics and one custom rifle chambered in .300 H&H Mag.

Roamed around the THR forums for quite some time and never gave a moments thought of registering. Just now decided to take the plunge...So my official hello to everyone. Look forward to having some ideas and opinions shared among the members. Little about myself- I am 24 living in Central Florida. Shoot mainly pistol as rifle ranges are hard to come by unless you are willing to spend a fortune on a membership..not in my budget to do so. Spent a few years in the army, so on and so forth. I get the feeling this thread isn't really frequented by many, but I digress. Hello again!

hi everyone

I'm Steve. Finally got my first gun, I'm 24. Waiting to get the purchase permit to pick it up. Springfield .45 1911 micro, used, all black. Wanted to get something to potentially carry a few times a year, and to protect the home - and something tells me it won't always be so relatively easy for responsible people to get firearms in the future. I appreciate the wealth of info on THR.

Eh, some of us swing by every now and then. But yeah, it isn't a place where much discussion takes place.

Welcome everybody!

Just joined the forum late last week. I've been raised around the shooting sports and always enjoyed them. I love to flyfish, hunt, hike, ski and shoot firearms. I read some good threads about pistols and decided to join, just looking to expand my knowledge base.
