New member fruit cove fl
I just bought a 12 gauge Remington 11-87 . It's definitely for home defense but I also want to get back into target shooting. I've been on a 40 year break from owning a gun. "WHAT WAS I THINKIN?" I see it's really hard to find a place to just shoot for fun. I'd like to meet up with someone in this area that enjoys shootin cans in the woods or if somebody wants to tell me a good place to go "shoot at will" My son and I went to Amelia Shotgun Sports in Yulee Fl - ameliashotgunsports dot com We had a good time and was not too expensive. The owner and people that work there are very friendly and helpful. So, hope to hear from anyone that likes to shoot. |

Introduction
Hi,
I am Riley. I hail from the UK. Guns are a hobby for me . The problem is in the UK the government restricts the use of Guns to shotguns only for the citizen farmers and hobbist clay pigeon shooters and then only after passing a strict tested criteria set by the police . All Handguns are banned to all citizens, apart from the police and the military and the security services. Who get to shoot our citizens when deemed necessary. However our police force is not armed as a rule. So far they protect and serve by consent . That is changing fast as we have what is known a tactical support unit which is fast response Unit and they are armed with tazers and handguns and all sorts of other weapons seemingly suitable for any given emergency situation .. They usually shoot the wrong people .. Our police forces are not as well trained as your law enforcement tactical units are. The British government does not believe in arming its citizenry. Therefore I vacation in the USA where as a non immigrant alien i am allowed to excercise my hobby at gun ranges .There are many questions I would like answered by individuals at this site. Reading previous posts they seem highly knowledgeable about ownership of handguns for non immigrant aliens within the USA. I have been enlightened with a great deal of information not available on other sites. Thank you. |

Hello,
New to the forum, though I've been lurking for awhile. I've been hunting since I can ever remember and have been a serious reloader for going on 25 years now. I load pistol, rifle and shotgun ammo. By records I have loaded 100,000+ rounds and still going (and learning). I've been involved in most aspects of the shooting sports, action pistol, long range rifle, bullseye and shotgun games. Right now trap is taking up most of my time/resourses. I just hope I can add something useful to the conversation here. W101 |

Hello, I just bought a CZ 455 American. The pistol I currently own is a Springfield XD40 Sub. I have owned a SxS Savage 20 gauge, a Marlin lever action .22lr, and a 9mm pistol of a name that I cannot recall. I started on a Daisy and killed my first bird at age 4. I've hunted and shot squirrel, rabbit, dove, quail, deer (hunted only), and varmints of sorts. I am strongly considering coyote hunting. I've just recently acquired the interest and have yet to educate myself adequately. I've always loved guns. I'm a tech pro so I'm the natural sort to love the functionality of firearms. And who doesn't like to make things go boom right?
Anyway, this looks like a well managed forum. I've lurked for a while. I've certainly appreciated the wealth of knowledge. Again, hello. |

Hello All, Mike here, I am into all firearms mainly single shots Handy RIfles. Sure do like making and doing for myself, thus the reloading. Reload for everthing I shoot and the shotguns are offering a new twist "brass" hulls. Will get into that chat more in the furture.

Hi, new member from Alberta, Canada. I am just starting my collection. While I am not new to firearms in general, I am new to owning them and I am new to handguns. I currently own a Mossberg 702, a .308 BLR, a .300 win mag X-Bolt and a Browning 1911-22. I am interested in getting a 1911 and a 9mm in the near future. I'll do lots of reading on the forum and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.
Thanks! |

Hi, I'm a new member from NJ.
First gun was mosin nagant 91/30. I bought it as my first restoration project, and it led the way to my current gunsmithing job. Starting to get into pump actions and levers too. Most of my purchases are either for home defense or just for restoration, not much of hunter. Hope to get to know you guys better soon |

Hello, yet ANOTHER new guy here on THR. I actually joined in September but didn't get to actually use the site until now.
I grew up in rural MS, so hunting and fishing is second nature to me. As I grew into a young adult I became more interested in girls and cars. Now that I'm getting a little more settled and entering my thirties (I know, I'm not old by any means) I've regained my interest in firearms. I also have been directed to THR nearly everytime I have had a firearm related question. I have learned alot from the members here and felt it was only appropriate I join and share with you guys that have helped me so much. |

Howdy. I felt compelled to join after lurking for some time due to the breadth and depth of humanity and expertise here.
I've been shooting and handloading for most of my life and have always been interested in all things that might expand my general knowledge, especially those things that go "bang".

Target Shooter
I'm a United Methodist pastor, if you can believe it. I'm also an NRA member and shoot .223 remington, 30.06, 9mm, 12 gauge shotgun, and 22 caliber long rifle.
My family in Illinois grew up on a farm, where in the Great Depression, we hunted to supplement the food budget (no money, just like everyone else). My father took me to trapshoots when I was a boy. I like shooting sporting clays. I've been deer hunting twice, and turkey hunting twice. I keep trying to hit the bullseye! Last edited by ccbmadison52; January 17, 2012 at 10:06 PM. I'm new to the board, but not to shooting. I ran across this board while researching triggers for a Rem 700ADL Varmint (.308) that I bought myself for Christmas. Google brought me here, and several OLD posts convinced me to spend once - I got a Jewell HVR w/safety and bolt release from Bruno's. Installed it myself and am very pleased. Next up is a new stock to replace the Remington UltraFlex factory one.
I currently own pistols from S&W, Colt, and Ruger, rifles from Remington, CZ, Tikka, Savage, Ruger, and Hi-Point, and shotguns from Remington, Beretta, and Mossberg. I pursued other interests for several years, but I am actively shooting again now. Thanks for all the advice! Trent |

NM Rancher
My name is Mark, I own a small cattle ranch in the central high plains of NM. I enjoy all shooting, I target shoot for the most part. I'm always finding this site when I'm looking for information on any gun subject. I shoot everything I can get my hands on , and reload for most of the guns I own. I love 1911's revolvers, and have a passion for long range rifles. I have my own range, and can shoot from 100 to 1000 plus, thus I'm always looking for reloading advice for long range rifles. I'm involved in the Tea Party, Republican party, NRA, and anything that protects our 2nd amendment right.

Howdy Everyone,
My name is Stephen and I have just recently started getting serious about guns. I just left Texas where I did some duck hunting, and I currently live in Rhode Island where I'm getting into sporting clays. I enjoy shotguns of all types and have already learned a whole heck of a lot from the community on here. |

Hi, twin cities area resident. Migrant from South Dakota for twenty plus years. Recently got my ccw, love going to the range and hunting. Especially pheasants. Joined because got sick of talking to people who don't know or care about my questions. Kept getting threads for here trying to google my questions. Figured I'd eliminate the middle man.

Somewhat newbie from Ohio
Hi all,
Been a member here for awhile, but don't remember if I've ever introduced a myself. I'm 64 , a retired LEO with 34 years of service and a lifelong love affair with weapons of all sorts, including all firearms. Only hunted once in my life, so have no longuns, but many handguns. I like Colt 1911's, have a Combat Commander and a New Agent SA. I have a Beretta 25,a Taurus M85 38sp with Ivory grips and Gold trigger and hammer. I own two Walthers PPKS in 32acp and 380. I also have a Ruger New Vaquero in stainless, 45Colt, and a Doc Holliday in stainless, 45Colt, with matching dagger in same serial# with shoulder rig (1 of 500).a couple of Davis derringers in 22 and 38, and a NAA mini in 22 mag with 22LR cylinder incl. I have a SigSaur P238 in 380. Think that's everything except for the latest and greatest, a Bond Arms Snake Slayer with 45/410, 45acp and 45 Colt barrels. This final piece is my favorite of all the handguns I own. I carry daily with an Ohio CCW as well as under retired leo, nationwide. I also collect custom, handmade knives. Hope I can contribute here.
