Greetings from WV! I'm nuts over Godzuilla, hence my title. I own an AK47 and an SKS, albeit I'm willing to trade the latter towards a Glock 17 or XD45. I hope to acquire a Taurus Circuit Judge .410, and either a Rossi .357 or a Mauser/Enfield(the latter two are for hunting).
Born again, Chihuahua owner, straight. |

New here
When i ask Google for answers to my firearms questions I often find THR on the first page. I have always used firearms but now I am looking to take them apart and clean as a hobby. Your forum is a great source on how to take them apart and trouble shoot. Thanks everyone.
Looking forward to more answers.

Hey All!!
I don't hunt, don't fish and don't follow sports. Yeah, I know, not 'Merican! Just my way.... Just found this forum this morning and thought I'd find some interesting information here. Served in the Marines many many moons ago and at that time was as not interested in firearms as much as girls so, barely qualified, but, NEVER forgot SIGHT ALIGNMENT SIGHT PICTURE. (okay, sometimes after a few suds I may have even practiced the manual of arms in my garage with no one around...on occasion). TMI. Recently, due to the number of home invasions, in our area, thought it was a good idea to buy a personal protection device...uh, someone sold me a S&W 681 for $250 years ago and it sat in a draw never fired by me for 5-6 years. Okay, so after all the months spent researching the easiest pistol that I could ignore until actually needed..decided on a G23. Took it to the range once and stuck it in another draw, closer to the bed. Well, told a buddy about the new G23 and he wanted to go the range to check it out, he was considering buying something also...so off we go. It was kinda fun..in a serious scared out of my wits for my toes, or leg, or whatever being shot off by accident. Anyway, bout a week later he picked up a 9mm and offered we go to the range for that one. I swear, this was not my intention...but, in the last two years I have acquired 4 more of these firebreathers and have just started slobbering over another one I can't afford right now...I think it was TomCat5??? May have the ID wrong. So, I am really here to ask if anyone knows of a support group to help me stop!!! I can't help myself it seems. Are there any local "Guns Anonymous" groups close to where I live?????? HELLLLLP MEEEEEEE! Looking forward to finding out all sorts of stuff, glad I found this forum! Hope to one day be able actually answer a question instead of always asking. |

Hi all.
My name is Eric. I'm 38, and from San Diego. I became an NRA life member today (thanks Homers!). I'm a 14-year Navy vet with deployments to Kosovo and North Sumatra, and continue on in the Reserves. I like to go surfing and shoot guns! ![]() I own a Glock 23 .40 cal and am looking seriously at the S&W 329PD or the S&W 629-4 or 5 Mountain Gun (pre-lock). I am a new hunter and am planning a WY antelope hunt in Oct '12. I like shooting vintage rifles and own a '55 Winchester M70 .30/06 Super Grade w/ National Match barrel, and an early 80's Sako .270 Win. with some of the most amazing fiddleback I've ever seen. I have a GA Precision .308 non-typical on order. ![]() I also own a few nice custom Gene Ingram knives. I look forward to meeting you all. Cheers, Eric |

Howdy!
My name is Aaron. My brother recently introduced me to this site and now I wonder how I missed it before. I am a supporter of freedom, personal responsibility and gun rights. I'm not that old but I remember taking my .22 rifle to junior high school as part of the shooting club, and firing Mossberg .22's in the basement shooting range at my high school -- both in California. Over the last few decades I've been appalled and amazed at the war over our Second Amendment and more recently, heartened by legal victories and what I perceive as growing understanding in America that gun control is a bad idea. I enjoy target shooting and plinking. Although I hope never to be involved in a shooting, I try to stay current on all aspects of concealed carry and self defense. So far the conversations on THR have been entertaining and informative. I'm impressed with the civility, and open-mindedness demonstrated in the conversations here. I don't have the extensive knowledge of many here but hopefully I can add to a conversation now and then. Regards, Aaron |

Hello all, new member here.
I've been interested in firearms for a number of years but only bought my first gun, a Springfield XD-9, in 2009 (of course had a number of pellet/BB guns as a kid haha). That started my collection; I'm interested in just about all types of firearms and enjoy reading the history behind them (and history in general is a passion of mine). I suppose that's about it, glad to be a member here! |

Hello, I'm new.
I am KW84, I have been a gun owner since 2008 when I bought a new Ruger P95DC. Now I have my Ruger, a Davis DM22 that I could not pass up, and my newest; a Norinco SKS that my Grandfather passed on to me last week. I have been a member of a local gun forum since '08 but I figured it's about time to go nationwide. Hope to make friends and learn. - KW84 |

New Member-RAZORBACKER
Hello from Central Arkansas. I am a retired Photographer. I've been a shooter all of my life. Started out with a H&R single shot 22 at age 10. Most of my envolvment in competitive shooting was in NBRSA. I shot Bench Rest for several years, till the eyes couldn't keep up. I'm a long range deer hunter with kills out to 900 yards. I have recently started back into 1911 pistols, and a couple of new shotguns.

Hello. I am getting the first post out of the way in the traditional manner.
I am a military collector, currently living in CO. I don't tend to share much more than that, but will answer questions as best I can. |

Hi
Hi fellas, I'm a former US Marine Capt.,I retired a few years ago, working now as a security advisor in northern Spain. Guns are my passion, I'm a fairly accomplished woodsman and gunsmith, my choice handgun for targets or business is the 1911 gov't .45 "big mouth" automatic, also love my novak custom 9mm browning HP and SIG 226 or as recon force and the seal call it sometimes the MK 24, own a few others but the govīt is the one I've staked my life most of my adultīs life. My favorite .22s: a 1964 marlin 39A mountie and a winchester M63 semiauto. My favorite rimfire handguns are a 4 1/2" colt woodsman sport from 1963 (hunting companion) a S&W model 41 5" HB for targets and a 6" colt's diamondback just for the joy of shooting and handling it!!!. So this is me and some of my toys, hope I can be of help someday to my other fellow members. Have a great day and above all:

Wife & mother of two teen boys in upstate, NY looking for a lifetime member of the NRA to sponsor my membership under the 300.00 deal... I hear the offer is good till early March 2012.
Used this site many times for reference before deciding on my 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th purchases... I already had a 25/35 win but recently bought .32 S&W model 1903, S&W mod 60 (stainless, fully engraved by Jeff Flannery w/pearl grips), S&W mod 37(carry piece) & a wingmaster 410. Can't wait for warmer weather and our trips to the range- I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Welcome to all the newbs. I'm sure you'll find THR to be the finest firearm site on the innertube. Lots of great info and conversation. It's not addicting though, really it's not. I, for one, could stop anytime, really....

I'm an expirienced shooter. I like firearms of all kinds, good knives, and good gear.
I don't care about how "tacticool" a weapon or piece of kit is, I only care if it works! I'm a perpetual student, and if it isn't down right stupid or dangerous, I'll try it. |

New To This Forum
Greetings All:
I'm new to this forum, but I've been enjoying firearms since I was a kid. Primarily, I'm a wheelgunner, but I also play with a few old school type autoloaders and long guns. At times, I've been know to be a dinosaur.........Yep, guilty (as charged). I'm not very paramilitary (I'm an old cowboy), don't have much in the way of plastic fantastic, am of the opinion that the term "tactical" is over used/abused.......and it now turns me off. I look forward to getting to know some of you good folks around here and exchanging ideas, thoughts and information. My friends call me "Geezer", however if you're feeling formal, you're welcome to call me "Mister Geezer".........chuckle Best Regards Everyone, Geezer
