Name is Paul Retired Firefighter/Paramedic, former SSG in the US Army ( OV-1D Mohawk ) Started my gun hobby with high end air rifles, which are as loud as a rifle at times. Bought a S&W 22A for fun, joined the local rifle range, got my CCW and a Glock 19 then things seemed to snowball out of control then two things happened, I got my son interested in guns and then I went Hog Hunting!!! OMG! I thought I was having a heart attack after my first kill, I was Sooo excited. Best pork I ever ate.I ended up here looking for info on refinishing stocks and stayed. Lots of reading to do here on a hot day, and we have plenty of them here. Stay safe and shoot straight. Glock 20 Glock 19 H&K P30 Walther PPQ Buckmark .22 AR-15 .223 Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R Henry .22 Rossi Rio Grande 30x30 Kel Tech 9mm Bersa .380 Thunder

Hello everyone,
My name is Al and I am from the Boston area in the hellhole I call Massachusetts. Our gun laws are about as bad as it can be and I struggle to pursue my shooting passion. I love most all firearms but have a love affair with Ruger and Glock. I hope to gain more information on this forum and talk to some nice people. NortheastShooters is an excellent forum as well but I want to be a member here as well. |

Hello everyone,
I just found this site and am very happy to be able to meet people who believe in gun ownership as a right! I have been shooting sense I was 7 years old, many many years ago. Now I have been helping all my family and friends to get comfortable with proper gun handling, pushing the importance of training, ownership and defense. I believe in what Jefferson said, "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." and "The beauty on the 2nd amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." Very glad to be here! Thank you all |

Hey all,
I am really enjoying THR. I have been a shooter for 20 years but never got into forums but really like this one. Anyway, My Dad owned guns but never hunted or went shooting much, then a buddy and I went shooting & I decided I needed my own. I got my first, a Ruger GP-100 6" .357 in 1991 and was hooked. I have shot mostly pistol including speed and the silhouette game plus have been reloading almost from the start. VERY satisfying to be a shooter. I love guns, shooting & reloading like crazy. Sounds funny but I only love God, my wife and my kids more. It's been and continues to be a big part of my life. Luckily, my wife wants to get into sporting clays and is really good with my Vaquero .45 Colt. The kids want to learn, too. Great stuff.

New boy here from the UK
New here but not to shooting!
Been shooting all sorts for 40 plus years. No hand guns here any more apart from muzzle loaders so plenty of rifle and shotgunning. Currently own K11,No4Mk2,10/22,41 Marlin,44 Marlin,11-87,Uberti 1885 in 45-70. Also alot of antiques,Snyder,M/Henry,a few rolling blocks,310 cadet and others. Next rifle will be something tactical in 260 remington for 1000 yard plus shooting. There are some damn good rifle builders here in the UK! Check out UKvarminting for an idea of what goes on here. I do plenty of reloading and casting! Cheers, Tony |

Hi, my name is Nick and I'm a gun enthusiast so naturally I have been joining different forums obtaining all the knowledge I can. I'm new here but I'm an active member on other forums so I may already know some of you. I collect, build and currently own all different types of guns from black powder to assault rifles with everything but a can opener mounted on them. I look forward to what this forum has to offer.

Welcome to the forum but...
The correct term is modern sporting rifle NOT assult rifle ![]() remember the gun hating left wing liberals coined the term "assult rifle" home defense weapon is acceptable

Well if you knew what I owned you would agree they are assault rifles but for the sake of the liberals I only own modern sporting rifles.

Charlin 20 gauge shotgun
My name is Tom and my recent membership is based on my acquirement of a Charlin shotgun. I believe it's 20 gauge and it may be a 1920's to 1940's model. It appears in good shape. Not being learned in guns and certainly not french sliding breech loaders, I'm attempting to educate myself regarding it's vintage, history and how it may be disassembled. I'll probably bring it to a gunsmith but am wondering if anyone using this site is familiar with this type of shotgun. Thanks.

Hey Everyone.
Just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself. This looks like a really good group and I'm excited to be part of the discussion. Beside liking ice cream and long walks on the beach, I spend most of my time trying to finish my degree at UNC, training my purebred mutt retriever Molly (half lab, half coonhound, all sass), and working on my little 500cc motorcycle. Then Fall rolls around and I'm busy tripping over sunken logs and falling in over my waders around the local waterfowl impoundments. I have a small pump action shotgun addiction for which I am seeking treatment. Its an uphill battle, but I remain hopeful. Glad to have made your acquaintance. |

Greetings 2A practitioners. As for introductions, I'm a Native Oklahoman, working on my PhD, and I prefer cowboy action firearms (Leverguns and Single Actions). Don't get me wrong, I do own modern sporting rifles and semi auto handguns
but get they just don't give me the same satisfaction as an old levergun.

Hello all, as an intro I have often stumbled across articles here, and since I'm getting serious about getting a rifle and learning to hunt I thought I would finally join. As some background, I was born and bred in Central VA (where I still reside) and come from a once-vegan, now-vegetarian household, which makes for interesting discussions about my desire to hunt lol. As for other interests, I am very in to martial arts (Karate, out of practice now though), darts, psychology, film photography, old books, etc. If there is anyone in the Central VA area with advice on shooting ranges/retailers feel free to PM me, would love any advice to get started.

Hello to All. I'm west of Salem,OR. I'm a second generation NRA Life Member. My brother and I used to own "SportsWild" Sporting Goods in Red Bluff, CA. We were both FFL dealers at that time. I like to target shoot and work on my own guns. My wife likes to shoot our High Standard Sport King more than the others. She can write her name with it. My favorite pistol to shoot is my Dan Wesson 1911 10mm Match. I am registered to two other gun forums and find that I learn a lot from reading them.

Hi Everyone,
I am a new member as of today and I am pleased with the responses from this community. I am a combat infantry veteran of OIF/OEF with the 82nd ABN and I just now have recently started to get into shooting in the civilian world. I have purchased a S&W Shield so that I can get my CHL and I have my sights set on getting a SOCOM 16 but its going to be a while! I live in texas and I have a great outdoor range that lets me shoot out 1000 yds so I can't complain!

Hey guys just found this place. I got back into shooting about 7 months ago after a 5 year hiatus where I sold everything off. I'm just into plinking and target shooting as most of my guns are range toys. I like to tinker too...enjoy working on my guns as much as shooting them.
Here's the start of my new collection. Next gun to come off layaway is CIA 93 (HK93) clone that I'm going to roll the dice. It's going to be a project build and I wanted to do something different than an AR or AK.
