Three things I believe in: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Three things to remember: When the try to stop your your First, you'll wish you had your Second. Thank God for Texas ... and states rights. Levity beats Brevity. The real battle is for our children. Our educational system is designed to indoctrinate values, not teach facts. Values should be left for families to decide and instill. Until we return to that as a nation, nothing we do will have any long term effect. Best education on indoctrination is "Who Controls the Children" by Peg Luksik. God Bless you. See you around. |

I am a new member, just joined today. I like anything that goes bang, reload for all my center fire rifles and handguns, and have done so for years. My current favorite shooting is with 45-70 single shot rifles, and 1911 pistols. About 12 years ago, I took a gunsmith machine shop night class for two semesters at a junior college and built a 30-06 on a Win. Model 70 action with a Douglas Premium air gage barrel that wound up at 25.5 inches with a target crown. Put it in a McMillan synthetic stock with a 3.5x10 Leupold scope. To my astonishment, my first group using Hornady Light Magnum 180 Gr. ammo, it grouped 3/4 " at a measured 100 yd, and the chronograph read just over 2940 fps. May have been due to the 1 in 10 twist on the accuracy, and 25.5 on the barrel length. I used to hunt white tails in East Texas, but somehow I got over being mad at them, and now generally hunt hogs, still somewhat pissed at them.
My longest shot on a hog was 285 yd with a 25-06, and the closest was 26 feet with a 45-70. |

New member, unsure how to start thread.
I wanted to start a new thread I recently decided a 9mm wasnt enough and traded the g19 for the g21. I am sincerely interested in a 10mm conversion and wanted a post to get advice from yins. could someone please tell me how to starta new thread or recommend a good one for me?
Please and thank you! |

Hello from Georgia
New here from Georgia. Enjoy shooting in general, handguns, rifles, and shotguns, equally well. I look forward to being part of this forum. Just by what I've read so far, I have hit the jackpot on info and knowledge by coming here.

Greetings, all. I found your forum while looking up gun laws info (the Connecticut school shooting tragedy is all over the news, and I was looking up the laws there as well as the states in which I will be traveling soon). A couple of discussions came up a couple of times in my various searches and I decided to check out the community. I have read a few threads and liked the discussions I found, though mostly they were a bit out of my league.
My name is Samantha and I am a housewife and mother currently living in Texas. I have recently become a gun owner and have my license to carry it concealed. I'm married and .. uh... I have two kids and three dogs... and..I never know what to put in these introduction things... |

Greetings from Arizona, I’m a retired Nuclear Power Plant operator. I’ve been married 38 years with 3 kids and 3 grandkids. I found the forum while searching for info on reloading my 22-250. I am a veteran of the Navy. I served on Nuclear Submarines from Jan 67 thru Dec 72. I enjoy discussing guns, reloading and hunting as well as political topics.

Greetings and salutation...again
Hi, former member who has returned. I used to be on here under the same name years ago. Live got in the way and I took a break. Life changes yet again, soooooooo, I one again find my way back.
Bit-o-bout me...Army vet from 87-96, few civilian jobs after, back to college after being laid off from HP, now I am once again back in the arms of the federal government as a medic at the local VA hospital where I have been for the last few years. My fire arm interests starts with growing up in the central mountains of Idaho hunting and shooting, typical Army stuff then was made a unit armorer, post Army is mostly recreational shooting, plinking, hunting, and grumbling about gun laws that make no sense. I enjoy all guns, from small ccw, .22 plinkers, semi-auto side arms and rifles, hunting bolt guns, to shot guns and everything in between. |

"gun collector"
Hope you noticed the term "gun collector" being used in the recent shooting thing on the news? Another pawn moved 1 square forward against gun ownership. Now collectors are a target.

I didn't know this thread existed
I'm glad i can tell some of y'all who I am. My name is James and I grew up in Massachusetts. I played four sports throughout high school and wrestled a bit as well. I'm a big fat A*^ now weighing in at 330, so running from a fight has never been an option for me. Won most of them, got my butt kicked a few times, but its made me a better person, that and I've never actually started any of them. I now live in central Texas where I manage a floor of sales people for a home security company. I am absolutely in love with firearms. I now own 16 different 9MM pistols and many different long guns. Buying, selling, trading, and bringing life into guns their previous owners thought dead has been an incredible hobby for me. I love getting a gun for 100 bucks because someone thinks its broken but it only has a magazine issue (most likely the case). I love guns. I really need to buy some land so i can shoot relatively unrestricted... If anyone in central texas see's this and would let me use their land I'd be happy to pay a small fee, and would clean up my mess.

Hi, I'm a new member. I am a retired fire fighter from Windsor Ontario. My hunting is pretty much limited to whitetail deer now. I was an avid water fowl and small game hunter. I use to love getting out at night for coons. Our area has been built up to the point where there is nothing left for hunting. Only land owners or pretty much the friends of the land owners have the privilege to hunt. I drive to eastern Ontario (Ottawa valley) to hunt deer. I have always loved guns and hunting. Throw in a little fishing and a little golf and that's the whole shabang.

Welcome to the new folks.
Good to see you here. Please understand that THR is different in that we do expect everyone to follow the code of conduct in keeping the discussions civil and family friendly. The referenced Art's Granmaw uses home made lye soap, so stay on her good side! ![]() If you have questions about the site itself the Technical forum is the place to look for answers. Have fun and help us all show the world that gunowners are good folks.

north dakota boy
I was born and raised in North Dakota, i enjoy hunting, bench shooting, fishing, raising and training horses.
Although i have always had and loved guns, I had fallen away from the hunting thing for awhile, now my 12 year old son has pulled me back into it because that is all he cares about! haha We spend alot of time chasing coyotes, deer, pheasant. we have several guns, my favorites are 22-250,243,25-06 and my next one will be either a .338 lapua or a 30/338 wildcat. |
