Long-time fan
Happily married and currently managing a large brood of kids, so my opinions tend to stay on the "keep everybody safe, forever" side of things. I'm a strong believer in RKBA, the 2nd Amendment, and the rest of the Constitution for that matter. I hope I can contribute something for the other members here, as I have certainly gotten a lot of advice from this site over the years. |

Hello everyone.
Good morning all. I'm dropping a few lines to say thank you for a great forum, and to give a little intro.
My name is Dave and I'm from Cape Girardeau, MO. I'm an Army vet who spent 7 years as a Huey 'Chief. I'm married to a beautiful feisty redhead who helps keep me in line and out of trouble. We're blessed with three brilliant and adorable rugrats; 11, 7, & 2. Definitely keep is running. I just started a custom holster company about a month ago. I've been working leather for a while. After deciding I was too cheap to pay close to $200 for an IWB holster for my 1911 and then wait 6 months for it; I spent several weeks working up a few new designs that could stand up to or beat what was on the market. I made myself a few; which in turn led to a few more for forum friends. After some serious trials and surprisingly positive feedback from a few well respected gun gurus, it looked like I was on to something. I spent the next few months finalizing my IWB designs, adding 4 more main OWB and IWB models as well as cowboy holster and belt rigs, and now just got in 7 new gun molds to widen my product range across the board. It's been exciting so far and it is so much fun working with forum friends and clients all around the country. I love my 1911s and recently began getting into revolvers. I'm really digging my single actions and can't seem to get enough! Throw in a few rifles and ARs to the mix here too. My better half has been pretty supportive of my obsessions over the years, and my guns and new biz are no exceptions. She is even started asking about taking the CCW class and hitting the range. Recent tragic events really have pushed that home even farther. I haven't hunted in decades, but only because time isn't there and I've had too many other pricey hobbies over the years. I look forward to hanging out here and hopefully getting to know a lot of you. Still an infinite amount of stuff for me to learn and maybe I can throw in a few things here and there as well. If I can answer any holster or leather questions for you, just give me a shout.

Hi everyone. Was looking for an answer about gun accuracy when I found the answer on this site.
I have been a CCP holder for 25 years now & a competitive Bulls-eye Pistol Shooter. I have been an NRA member for many years. I am also a member of a popular shooting Club here in Lancaster NY. (A suburb of Buffalo NY.) I am a semi retired Automotive Technician. I still love working on, cruising and drag racing my Buick Grand National. Just sold my 03 Harley Road King, due to back surgery & ongoing pain/problems. Love to build, drive & sell most any vehicle, but mainly Buick Grand Nationals, and Turbo Buick's when my back allows me to. |

Hi all - new here, having first posted on the Marlin 39A club thread. Yes, I do own a Marlin 39A - been in my family since before I was born.
I'm in the high tech field, focused on Marketing and Product Management. I have an undergrad in Accounting, a Master's in Software Engineering. I am a car buff, own a '66 Jag E-type and a '67 Honda CL/77 motorcycle (which my father was the 2nd owner, and passed it to me). Also coach travel soccer and roll competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (currently a blue belt, but have been out due to surgical re-attachment of my bicep...OUCH!). As it related to firearms, I've had quite a few come and go. Learned on my dad's S&W .38 snub nose revolver, which I had but gave back to him. Also had a Springfield 30.06 rifle - gave that back to him too (too much for me to handle). Had a S&W 915 that I sold back in the day to pay my mortgage - wish I had that back. Have been out of the game for awhile since my wife and 2 kids aren't as into the gun thing as I am, but with the Marlin, I may take the kids plinking soon. I'm looking to get a M&P15-22 for me and the kids, and possibly a .380 or 9mm pistol. |

Hello all! Welcome back to me!
I joined THR ..... well, I just checked my profile, and it will be exactly 10 years ago this Christmas. Odd that I joined on Christmas day, I don't remember that. But I haven't been an active poster for a long time (although I lurk here fairly regularly).
I'm a long-time firearms owner and staunch 2A supporter. And I'm worried sick about the increasingly loud drumbeat calling for new gun control laws. So I felt the need to re-activate myself here for the mental and emotional support of you like-minded folks. I have a few handguns, a rifle, a shotgun, and my FL carry permit. Also, I'm feeling a desire lately to buy one or more "assault weapons" just because I can. AR15 style? Mini14? Some other scary-looking black gun? I definitely want something with at least 2 of the cosmetic features that would magically turn it from a plain old garden-variety semi-auto rifle into a dangerous high-powered assault weapon.

Hi Frank from CT here. Been lurking for a while and decided to join. Have read a lot of informative posts and plan to remain largely in the background.
Recently picked-up my first semi-auto, a Glock 26 with a LaserMax sight. Have the standard Mossy 500 and a Ruger 10/22. Slowly expanding the herd. Nice to be on board. |

G'day Mates!!
I think I have been rather lax in introducing myself to the general population of THR.
I do hope I have posted this in the right place but I was at a loss as to where else to post it. So, forgive me Mods and move this thread where you feel it best fits. I'm an Aussie, hence the G'day. Female. Sorry chaps nothing I can help. Consider it a birth defect. Gun enthusiast, feral pig hater and all round marksmanship nut. I look forward to reading and participating on the board where I feel I can. Cheers, ~Ms Dragon. |

Welcome! We will pardon the defect if you will pardon ours.
Here in the middle part of North America it's usually a mental defect.

Thank you, ICE1210 and Cyclopsshooter!
Gosh! Thank you for saving me from the embarrassment of not getting a reply to my introduction thread! Oh, the horror! LOL. So far I have enjoyed this community a great deal. Flintknappers thread on killing feral pigs is one of this site's epic contributions and I have to say I was saddened to reach the end of it's 50+ pages. He has reinforced everything I have been told and experienced when hunting this vermin and I have learned more than I could have ever hoped. For the most part I can safely say I don't know much. I've had a life time around guns BUT, that said, I have never bothered myself to learn about makes, calibers, etc. I merely used what was on hand and as luck or innate skill would have it I was and am extremely accurate with what ever was dropped into my hands, be it rifle or hand gun. My father was a marksman of note and as a child he nailed a metal bottle cap to a tree and told us children that we could not handle his guns until we were able to shoot the bottle cap using a very worn air rifle whist sitting on a chair under the rear verandah of our house. After school it was always a rush to finish homework and rush to the chair first to see if you were able to hit the bottle cap. The memory never fails to make me smile. Welcome to thee of the charming accent.
I am using cans and balloons with the 6 and 7 yr old grand daughters, haven't told them about the bottle cap yet.

And welcome to you, Bikerdoc.
The bottle cap was the first of trials that my father had set for us children. My very first rifle was a single shot .22 Mossberg (spl?) and my very first kill with it was a rabbit. I dropped it dead with a single shot and I was very careful to show dad that I put the safely on as I handed it to him so I could retrieve the animal. Maybe it's out of place and somewhat macabre but he dipped his finger in the blood of the animal and drew lines down my nose and across my cheeks and called me "blooded". For the first time and only time in his and my life he said he was proud of me. Those things have a way of staying with you, even as an adult. |

I just joined last night I guess in part because of all the current media attention. I am in my early 50s, ex-Navy, avid shooter, own numerous handguns and long guns. I am a deer hunter, outdoorsman, father of two, and a grandfather of one (last April). NRA member, animal lover, bivocational pastor, electrical engineer, and my wife is from Kalfornia. Thanks for letting me join this forum.

A lady who enjoys the shooting sports is hardly a birth defect - more like a pleasant partner adding a bit of warmth to the day.
Welcome

New Here
Hi all. Brand new here at the High Road. Retired police officer (1st retirement) and then retired from the Army Guard, counter drug division. I have bought and sold a slew of hand and long guns over the years and still have a gun cabinet and closet full. I enjoy talking - looking - shooting - anything guns.

^^ Uh, okay. Move on, please. Your other post this morning makes it clear you are not topic-interested. ^^
