Hey all! Have lurked here for a bit while checking out this site and others, and decided to join in on this site. It's nice to see some decent, civil conversation about guns and gun issues (I found way too many other sites full of "Obama is a facscist!" types).
I've fired long guns for years: my trusty Mossberg and various rifles while serving in the military. I want to learn to shoot pistols, so I just bought a Beretta M9 and am looking to get a Ruger Single Six. |

New guy in NJ
Hi, my name is Brian, I've read a lot on this site the last few years, figured it was time I joined and started being more involved. I hunt deer with a shotgun, but my tastes in firearms run towards 1911s
and S&W .357s in handguns and rifles in .30cal and lever guns in .45/70.

S&W Model 469
Hi everybody! Brand new at this. Was looking for demo to field strip my S&W Model 469. Might as well say hello. I am in my 60's. Former military (Army Infantry) and L.E.O. Also several years as armed Security Officer. Currently renewing my security creds so I can work part time. Definitely pro RKBA. Urge all good citizens to avoid being a victim at all costs. Make the bad guy pay those costs! I have concealed carry permit and take full advantage of it. This is my first time ever on a forum like this. So let me just say this looks like a cool deal and now I will go back to reading stuff from other folks who have something to say about firearms. I am always up for learning something and sharing opinions, etc. Also, I am still looking for tips on the 469. Got it recently and no manual with it. I like to play it safe when handling a new gun. It shoots just great. Don't know why I didn't discover it sooner. Got it in a trade and I am very happy so far. Now, lets get this piece opened up and cleaned! I want to give it a good home. That's it for now. ~ Keith.

New to the site. Been on some other forums for years but just haven't seen the traffic lately. I have handloaded for years and done a bit of amateur gunsmithing. Just looking for a more rounded education.

Greetings All
My name is Chuck and I live in the guns friendly state of Indiana, though currently I am deployed to the Middle East with my national guard unit. I have near 20yrs in the military now, both guard and active duty time. As far as guns go I am mostly a hunter: deer, turkey, pheasent (I grew up in Iowa) etc... But I also love the classics guns: M1 Garand, Mosin Nagants etc.... I enjoy the posts on THR and look forward to some great virtual conversations.

I'm glad I found this site. I'm a Cowboy Action shooter but love to shoot the older hardware. I'll be asking about loads and information on older revolvers. My other passion is long range Black Powder Cartridge (BPCR) shooting and I can assist to some degree from my experience. Looking forward to reading a lot of posts!

I spent a few years in the Army Infantry and returned home to Montana to go to college (graduating in May, woohoo!). I don't get out to shoot as much as I should, although with the lack of ammo I kind of have an excuse, now

Good evening folks from Arkansas; new to the Forum and shoot as much as possible. I am the proud owner of my fathers 1953 High Standard .22 target pistol and 2 RIA 1911s. I hope to get into reloading sometime this summer once the panic buying ends.

I had a name up here a long time ago when I first got into guns (2007) but after a while stopped posting and until now have just been reading and soaking up knowledge. This is the forum I have always used bc I trust it more than anything else and I appreciate the way you guys operate. I have learned so much over the years through thehighroad and plan to continue that, just with more posting!

Thanks!
I'll start off by saying "hi" and "Thank you!" as a lurker who has learned a ton since I started reading here about two years ago. I've enjoyed shooting for close to 30 years but have only become serious about it in the last year or so, after realizing how much better I could get with some regular, well thought out practice.
My current arms are: Beretta 92FS, Ruger Mark III, Marlin 60, PTR 91, and a Mossberg 930. I love'em all... |

To all that see this, I present greetings!
Hi all ... My name is Harry and I am a newly registered member here even though I have followed this forum as a silent lurker since late 2003. During that time I have learned quite a bit about a lot of things that are gun-related. Actually, many of my firearm acquisitions since then have been made based on opinions and recommendations made to others on this forum. With all the heightened anti-gun noise being made throughout the country recently, I thought it time to come out of the shadow and, when appropriate, add my two cents to the discussion.
I'm retired Army (20 years) and am currently employed by DoD for over 20 years as a Systems Engineer. I have over 40+ years experience with firearms and enjoy putting lead down range whenever the opportunity arises. I am, as probably most here are, a member of the NRA, support the NRA-ILA, and on several occasions have introduced the uninitiated to our enjoyable pastime. I'm not much of a talker so in closing, we're clear on the right? Clear on the left? The range is hot! (I'm a bit center right). Harry
