So much to say, and so little time to say it. I have not been into guns, but have always been fascinated by them and their histories knowing that each used gun has its own story to tell. Now, however, I want to learn to shoot because I am 71 years old and can't wait any longer. Primarily I am interested in handguns and target shooting--perhaps self defense. I do not own a handgun at present , but I want to buy one soon. I would greatly appreciate any advice about the purchase of such a weapon. Came across your forum quite by accident, and noticed that questions and replies appeared to be intelligent and knowledgeable --quite rare. Thank you all so much for reading. Hi everyone,
I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to come out of the dark and say Hi!. I live in the socialist republic on new jersey , I've been around firearms all of my life, mostly shotguns and rifles and love hunting, sporting clays, and just going to the range to kill off a few hundred rounds.I had the opportunity to go to a private range with a friend who's a member and he brought his collection of handguns(about 15 in all). Everything from 22cal. to 45cal., wheelguns and semi-autos...OOOH Baby!!!! Needless to say after that day I had a new love in my life. I just applied for a pistol purchase permit so I can buy my own. I'm married and the wife love to shoot also, she's deadly with her little Ruger 10/22 . She's still alittle leary about the bigger guns but I'm just happy she enjoys shooting and comes with me when she can.I learned alot from this site and look forward to contributing in the future. Thanks sandcast69 |

I'm new to this group and wanted just to network with others that like the things i do ,Guns ,Guns, guns... i too will admit i have a problem ....i just can't get enough.. i mostly own handguns and only a few rifles but i'm still young and have many buys to go. I think it's good to meet others that can tell me things about guns i don't know and thats a learning item that never grows old.

Hello everyone. I just found THR last week and I love it. My name is Pete, I live in N.Ga and I love anything that goes bang and smells of gunpowder. My most interesting gun (for now) is a 30/40 Krag that I bought last year. The Krag was used in The Spanish-American War.While growing up as a kid there was an old gentleman in my neighborhood that I knew that was in this war. This fact just adds a little more interest to the gun. I, like most readers, on this blog, am VERY pro 2A.

Hey Guys, I'm Jayce. I'm a student in boston, though I come from southern california. I've been seriously missing my guns back home, there is virtually no shooting scene here in boston that I can locate. So I come here to read up on some gun talk.
If anybody has some info on ranges within Boston that aren't LE exclusive I'm all ears, thanks. Looking forward to chatting up one of my favorite subjects. |

Sato Ord pointed me your way. (Thanks, Sato!)
I just picked up a .380, "my" first gun, although there have almost always been guns in my household. This looks like a very interesting group. I look forward to posting here whenever I have the time. |

I joined THR in Jan 07 but apparently never posted. I spend some time on the 1911 forums and my username is a tribute to the category I shoot in C.A.S. which stands for Cowboy Action Shooting. In Gunfighter the revolvers are allowed to be shot in parallel, usually alternating shots and its' a good time. I have a couple Belgian Browning rifles I like to chase Bambi with too.

When I first went into the Air Force, the "Boys From Syracuse" had A-37 Dragonfly fighters. Those had a rotary-barrel Minigun in the nose. You might have to be stationed in Wyoming or someplace for it to be Cowboy, but it's definitely Action Shooting. ![]() Welcome to THR. |

Hello everyone. My name is Greg and I'm from North Georgia. Just found ya'll and thought the forum looked interesting, so I joined up. I'm a collector of sorts and mod on another collectors forum. anyway, looking forward to some great discussions.
Greg ps. the "xpert" part of my name comes from the place I work. Expert Die, Inc. just didn't want everyone to think I'm a know-it-all.

Hello everyone....new member "howdy"
Just popping in to say hi and introduce myself. Some may recognize my username from another site....where I participate regularly on the forums and also sell firearms. I was told by a friend to come over and check y'all out. It looks like you guys know what you are talking about.
A little about myself.... My father owned several gun stores and I just grew up in retail firearm sales. When he decided to retire my plan was to sell firearms on the internet (eliminating the stress of a retail store.) I applied for my own FFL and got the ball rolling with several sales....but planned to stay at the store while until the new owners of the store had a grasp on running it without me. It was also going to allow me time to build my idea a bit before the day came where I no longer run the store any longer. It is going on two years since the whole idea started....and it looks like I will not be leaving anytime soon. So, I still sell items on line from time to time. But those of you who have stores know its hard to drum up great items to fill the counters of a gun store....and really hard to have items you know you can make more money on sitting in the counters when you could list them for sale on line (but if you don't have cool things in the counter people will stop coming in.) Well, thats my story for the most part. Let me add I'm also a happily married mother of three. |

Why not do both? Have your traditional store and a website to sell your wares?
P.S. Welcome to the best gun board on the net!

Hi, my name is LibertyNews and I too am addicted.
To guns, that is. I am mainly interested in 1911's, AR-15s and WWII rifles. I'm a regular in the WAHTF over on ar15.com and I run a blog at www.libertynews.org where I don't post quite as often as I ought to. I also wrote www.gunbloggers.com which aggregates RSS feeds from numerous gun blogs and ranks the top 10 articles.

Hi all -
I just recently purchased a Sig 226 .40 Equinox. I was supposed to pick it up on Sunday, but I got an extended wait from the DOJ. Hopefully I can get that sorted out soon and get down to the range.-csk. |
