Another Hello From Texas

I'm Tim, just turned 26 and I'm in the private security/ Executive Protection industry. I wanted to join the Marines but I got married at 22 and the wife didn't like that idea too much.

I love what I do, getting to travel and train with some of the best is a blast. Guns, car, music and travel pretty much sum up my interests.

Oh yeah, bout to buy an MP15!!!

Seems that most my pictures are too big. Even the one of my cat and Colt 45.I'm working on making a poster. The picture of the girl is somewhat how the poster will be except there will be four girls in uniforms.Army Navy Marines and Air Corps.Four rifles, bayonets, four pistols and Browning 1919 air cooled. While researching posters and guns it led to this site.Imagine that.

I am Daniel Lemke, Ylapirrynag is simply my Wookiee name (the big furry guys from Star Wars :|). I am 15, 16 in July, 28. I love all forms of combat (as long as it is on the ground), video games, and computer programming. Oh and action movies. When I reach 18, I am going to join the Army as an infantryman(I hope I get a M16A3 ). I am not much of a newb to shooting firearms, I jsut never cleaned them or dis/re-assembled them. I have fired a .22 rifle and pistol, SKS (when I was 6-7), some Savage tactical rifle (unsure of the caliber but it was around .300+), a .50 revolver (it had a muzzle break ), a .45 semi-auto, and a AR-15. I especially love the .50 revolver, because I love high caliber firearms and revolvers. I just wish I had it. T_T

Oh yeah, I own a Lee-Einfield .303 rifle but can never find ANY DAMN ammo for it.

I joined a little while back and have posted a couple of times, so I thought I should formally introduce myself: hello, I'm Dave. I am an actor living in the Detroit area, which is the career equivalent of being a lumberjack living in Kuwait. Obviously, I enjoy guns, and belong to a couple of other boards. As a matter of fact, I see some familiar names here. I look forward to getting to know everyone else.

Hello THR.

My name is Donny.

I stumbled upon this forum while trying to find some answers for permit problems and thought I could learn something and maybe contribute a thing or two as well.

I'm from Massachusetts but stationed in North Carolina with the Marine Corps.

The only personal gun I have at the moment is a G23.

Hi to all,I am in Florida and I am a fan of all guns. I perticularly like my mouse guns, NAA mini's , Keltec, and others in my collection. I like these forumns because they can be a wealth of information. For instance I just added a FTL Auto Nine 22lr to my collection and found the take down instructions here on THR.

My name isn't really Jones, it's Kyle. I'm (currently) a grad student and I'm new to guns. I'm in the process of getting my concealed carry license and I've infected my wife with gun-mania, too. I have a 12-guage that I bought when I realized that the police can't protect us and a beautiful Springfield XD .45 compact with a stainless slide and brown polymer frame that I bought as soon as I finished jumping through the commie hoops in North Carolina (hula hoops if you've ever been to Carrboro, where I live). Now I'm obsessing over sport utility rifles in the interest of election-proofing myself this fall. I'm also interested in politics and the 2nd amendment. I look forward to talking with all of you grizzled forum elders and I'm really excited to learn as much as I can!

I'll try saying hi but I don't think anyone will see it. Way to many pages and who looks at the last page anyway? I know I never do. When I see more than 3 or 4 pages to a post, I just move on. Old age I guess.
I'm old. Really old I think. Been shooting guns for about 50 or 60 years now. Live in an area where guns are not a nice thing, people that own them are not nice people, people that shoot guns are horrible. So the Illinois news media says anyway. We've lost 2 indoor shooting ranges in the last few months too. It's amazing how people I know in other states can own, shoot, buy and sell guns and here if you even mention a gun your thought of as a criminal. Again, HI.

Ive been shooting for 7 years (mostly with a 1911, an SKS, and a Mossberg 500). I enjoy shooting, and look forward to learning more about it.

I have been "observing" for some time. I've been shooting 1911s for 40+ years, but love to hunt with rifle, muzzleloader, bow or handgun. I work in education and contradict most of the stereotypes many folks have about educational administrators. I love to shoot and I love the outdoors.

Good Evening/Morning fellow plinkers:

Your website is superb and operated by sincere gun enthusasts.

Although a middle-aged late-bloomer, my interest in guns...carbines... only (erst) began last October. Seldom plinked with the Savage .22 when young.

After buying a Mosin Nagant 44, Mini 14, 30, and a Norinco SKS, buying/storing some ammo is the only objective. Both the Mosin and SKS are outstanding values. And the Saiga rifle seems to cast a bewitching spell (verhext). By the way, 'GunBroker' has four full pages of Mini 14s-the selection has suddenly exploded and this was a shock.
A semi-auto Ruger or Marlin would be the best value for shooting costs, but the Mosin appears to be better than all others except reloading.

Fortunately, gun enthusiasts avoid quickly "jumping" on each other on various gun websites-unlike some types on YouTube gun videos.
What a refreshing change to now live outside a city where one can shoot at floating grapefruits in a river-hence four new guns which are used often.
Running on wooded trails is really good for your health.

Yellowhorse, among many others here, made some very interesting comments.

Hey, I'm Steve, I'm the new guy. I have worked military law enforcement for the last 7 years. I just built my first AR, I am also into hunting, motocross, water skiing , outdoor stuff and long walks on the beach( just kidding about the beach). I have a sig 229, ruger 300 win mag, .17 HMR,12 guage, .38 and a couple 22;s. I pretty much have pourpose guns but like to gain knowlege about gun in general. I do have quite a bit of military weapon systems knowlege but that gets old when you are surrounded by it 24/7.

Hi, My name is Madison.
I am an uneducated poultry farmer from the south. My parents hated guns, but being an independent thinker, I did the research and found that I did not hate guns. I am a life member of the NRA. I have more than two dozen rifles, shotguns, revolvers, and pistols; though all but three are in unfired condition. I have them for collector and investment value.
I have come to the conclusion that the firearm was one of the most important inventions in the history of mankind, on par with fire, written language, and the engine. I found that the proliferation of firearms brought the rule of power from those who controlled the armies- to the populous, since any poor farmer, with relatively little training, could be on par with any born-and-bred Roman-style soldier. It also allowed us to become masters of the beasts of this earth, as well as nearly eliminating hunger by those who were armed and could hunt. I found the removal of arms in the name of safety to be the same as removal of written language, fire, and the engine as an argument of safety could be made in those instances as well.
I have devoted much time to the repeal of draconian firearms laws. I have not found that the second amendment covered machine guns, cannons, or explosives and such as these are not personal arms. Not even the military gives these to individual soldiers on regular patrol, with the exception of grenades, these types of weapons are only given to groups of soldiers and only in combat. I am vehemently against banning any type of weapon that the government would consider using against it's own people, so if the Police can have it, the people can have it. I have heard no good argument to the contrary.
I love a good debate and I have had great luck convincing others of my findings, including my parents who have become CCW holders.
Thanks for reading this,

Greetings -

I'm not really a new member at all. But in a way, I feel like one.

These past couple years have been extraordinarily stressful with changes at work, and my involvement on staff on another gun board. I've left that staff just this morning (for a wide variety of reasons not worth discussing), and hope to straighten out my professional life very soon.

I intend to be here more.

For those that don't know me, I go a ways back with one or two of the senior folks around here. One of them I may as well be related to, and I hope he can forgive my absence these past few years. I'm an IT nerd, photographer wannabe, and somewhat of a gun nut that is hopefully here to stay.

Regards to all,
