exactly, i wanted a 1911 to begin with but i was a broke college bum at the time. its kind of funny i bought that gun new almost 10 years ago for $350 and the pawn shop that i bought it from said they could give about $250 of credit towards the new gun. I wish my truck held its value that well.

Beretta 9000S.
Once you get used to the safety it's one very, very sweet gun.

Found a nice, LN, 1911 Springfield TRP 45. It was more gun than I was looking for but DW said "Consider it a gift to yourself for surviving bypass surgery." Man, I love that woman!

Zeos, have you considered one of the clamp on mounts for your Swiss?

yes I have. the thing I like about the mount I mentioned is that since it sits were the rear sight used to it is on the same line as the barrel. I shoot left handed and I fear that a side mount scope would not be very accurate. the mount I mentioned isn't a permanent modification either so if I ever wanted to I could put it back to normal.
here is a website that shows the installation of that mount and I think they also did the clamp on side mount as well. http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews2...ount/index.asp |

Yea that site has a ton of info. The only reason why I suggested the clamp on is due to the fact that you will be limited in scope selection with the rear sight replacement to a LER scope. If you have experience with them and are comfortable with them then you'll be good to go but I tried it on a Mosin thinking that it's not a permanent modification and found that I didn't care for that setup.
The article on the clamp mount shows accuracy reports after mounting since you have that concern. |
