Question--Do you mean you bought a Colt manufactured in 1977 or that was the year you last bought a gun? I tried to determine this by looking at your second pic but I have to plead 'ignorance' on that one as I am not sure of its origin? If the answer is the former please pass along your secret for such discipline as I have been like a woman at Macy's of late relative to my 'hardware' acquisitions
.That Colt Python is an classic beauty! I have always wanted one. Coincidentally, there's another thread somewhere on THR about movies that may have 'helped' prompt one to buy a gun. Someone replied that ironically when they saw "Magnum Force" they were subsequently compelled not to go out and buy Dirty Harry's Iconic S&W Model 29 but the Colt .357 Python carried by the corrupt cop (I believe played by David Soul?). -Cheers

Caracal C
Hey Cokeman: It's friggin great BECAUSE, IMO it has a better trigger than a Walther PPQ,lower bore axis(less felt recoil) than a Glock(or anything) and it conceals better than a Walther PPQ,FNS-9 or a Glock 19 which is the three I was originally trying to decide between.
^This is coming from the biggest Kool-Aid drinker around. Oh, and it's a hundred bucks cheaper than the others(not that it matters when you're buying something that could possibly be life and/or death). The only drawback is the lack of availability after market accessories. This purchase was one that would remain stock anyway, except maybe some Dawson Precision sights. Is that better?

The sight picture itself is normal. However the rear sight is the slide cover too.It makes for a longer sight radius but no one has made an after market sight for it yet.

Christensen Carbon One Ranger .50
Just got word that this beauty was bought for me. It is new, still in the original packaging. Bought it from a guy selling many of his guns, due to financial difficulties, that I had been negotiating with for a couple of months, and a few weapons. I had to come to Europe so the owner of my range, my friend, and tactical trainer, is now in charge of buying the weapons I want from this guy. Yesterday he informed me the Christensen was now mine, and waiting for me...unfortunately it's on the other side of the pond... Thus, my Christensen collection is now complete. Still negotiating, thru my friend, on a couple of guns from the same guy (all barely fired, or new)...and I think I'm going to get them...in the near future a couple of JP's, and an Accuracy International AX338 will be added to the collection... Also bought a Philippine made 1911 (can't remember the make)...probably a piece of junk... |

What is the last gun that you bought?
I got two last week, one on Monday and one on Thursday. Both were .22 pumps. One was a Winchester 270 Deluxe; really nice and groups well in my indoor range which in only about 25 yards. The second one is a Savage SB80 made for Wards. It's been abused! Needs a new magazine tube, forearm is cracked, so is the stock. Both of these are repairable. The Winchester has grooves on the receiver to mount a scope, the Savage does not. The finish on the Win is great, the Savage has a brown patina and not a hint of blue. Haven't fired the old Savage yet.

I think the last one I bought was my safari arms 1911, although I don't know if it counts. I lost it at my pawnshop and bought it back. It never saw the sales floor though
If thats not the last one it may have been a marlin 22mag or a winchester 30-30.

CZ-52. They rock. People ask *** I am shooting because the lateral muzzle blast and report are so attention getting. I can't tell you how many times I see people looking confused, asking "is that a .45?" and then looking even more puzzled when I say it is just a .30 cal ....

Brought home a Browning 1911-22 and I love it. It is one of the most fun guns to shoot that I have ever owned. It is accurate and functions flawlessly. I got it for snakes but I shoot grasshoppers and katydids and skunks and a ton of targets.
