My most recent purchase....a Para USA LTC Lightweight 4" 1911 in 9mm. The more I shoot this gun the more I like it. One thing missing is some short of gripping surface on the front strap. Now since this gun has an alloy frame, I was not about to go at it with my stippling tools, and looking at the thickness of the front strap, it does not lend to checkering very well, unless done by an expert and then there is refinishing. I have never liked skateboard tape on a gun and though I love about everything Wilson Combat has to offer, the faux checkering cover they offer is not my thing. I went to the SAXET gunshow in San Antonio on Saturday and low and behold is the answer I have been looking for. It's a rubber stippled wraparound grip with the same stippled texture on the panels all in one piece. I previously had a set on an old stainless Champion and really liked the way they felt in my hand. Another plus it that they have a medallion cutout in each panel that my Para gold medallions fit in perfectly. I found the no gunsmith solution to my smooth front panel problem. I have also seen these grips on Colts and Thompson 1911's with their medallions in place.

Colt Commander used. It's a little beat up but I did some work on it this weekend. It shoots good but I need to change the sites and get a finish put on it. Has anyone done this before? how hard is it to do?
I also just picked up a taurus pt1911 It comes with all the bells and whistles but I really don't like the sites on it. Remington 700 22-250. Used needs a little work but nothing serious just going to get some work done on the bolt. Hopefully the wife will not need anything this week.

Who Wants to Know?
I have three firearms: a .22 LR Target Pistol, a .223 Remington Target Rifle, and a .243 Winchester Deer hunting rifle. I have no new GUNS. File this in your folder! My three (3) firearms are ALL legally registered according to current laws. Coming to confiscate my meager selection of firearms would likely hurt both of us. cliffy

A Firestorm FS22, a .22lr Bersa Thunder looking plinker. I had problems with bulk ammo in it, but it shot mini-Mags fine.

Steyr M-A1
I just purchased a Steyr M40-A1 from CDNN for $339.99 which is a great deal for this handgun. Comes with two 12rd high capacity mags. This is the lowest price I've seen for this gun. I chose 40 s&W over 9mm as I have not owned a 40 cal yet. Anyone have experience with this model in 40 s&w that could give me some ammo suggestions?
