S&W 442. It's the wife's birthday, but I have to be REAL careful how I present it to her. Honey, it's for you, but not for your birthday...how do you think that will work?

Walther P22 just for low cost target shooting. Can't afford to feed my Beretta's on a weekly basis!

Ruger Mini-14 NRA Model
I didn't really 'need' it, but boy have I grown to love it. Put a Burris Speed Dot on it and it is surprisingly accurate.

Last week I bought an Auto-Ordnance 1911A1. I have not had much time shooting it since the weather is too cold and I am a good old southern boy. Can't wait to move back to Texas and get a sunburn from shooting outside in January...well, you get the point.

I'd highly recommend a Ruger Mark III 22/45 or the Target model. Shoot like a Singer sewing machine. If you really want to have fun, find one of the Hamden, Conn. vintage High Standard bull barrels.
Our son has a Browning Buckmark that he is also very fond of. I can certainly relate to wanting to go the economy ammo route when it comes to down to earth fun shooting.

Walker,
As a coincidence, I asked our local gun store to attempt to locate a 75B a couple of days ago. He spent about 15 minutes on his computer checking with his normal suppliers and to no avail. They must be one of the most sought after pistols on the market at the present time. If I could find one at the right price (whatever the heck that is) I'd sure be interested in one. Heard nothing but good about them. By the way, whatever GunsAmerica has them for, you can add the normal fee plus shipping plus this local dealer is now charging $35 transfer fee. That sure adds up...........guess it's the Law of Supply and Demand.

Needed a small pocket pistol so earlier today I
purchased a Kahr P380. Looked at the LCP, which had a much more attractive price, but it just didn't feel right in my hand.

Codger,
I actually found the CZ75b I bought right here on THR classifieds. Seller was in Austin, I live about 2 hrs away, and we met up at the gun show. Doesn't get any better than that. The gun was in near perfect condition with box, papers, factory test target, and extra grips for $390. Again, no tax, shipping, etc. I couldn't be more pleased with the transaction. Now, I just need to get out and shoot the little baby. The weather is supposed to be in the upper 70s this weekend (and dry), so no excuses not to get out there. Can't wait to shoot that Para P14-45 either.

Walker.....
You absolutely have no conscious do you??!! That was above and beyond a steal, it was sinful!!! Sounds like you have a "bang up" (no pun intended) weekend ahead of you. May all your shots be "X's" or at least on the paper!!
Local gun store located one for me (black finish) a couple of weeks ago for $547 OTD. I now wish that I'd taken the leap. I'd prefer either SS or Satin finish but may not be able to be that particular.
