Several months from now, the "last gun" will hopefully be what Calibre 44 is shooting, or at least a distant identical cousin.
How about some ammo comments....if it does not fit, then don't read it.... Finding affordable surplus ammo is such a weird art that I normally buy a chunk of ammo before shopping for the rifle which uses it. It really paid off here when Samco was "sold out" of all low-cost .303, days after ordering a heap. The owner is reportedly a Pakistani, but he can't get more of this or British-made (they sent me '43 British-made)? Is there something going on in US Customs due to certain unscrupulous Obama appointees, or could it be that Pakistani .303 is all gone, or both? |

Last gun was a Ruger Hawkeye in the new 20-in. barrel 338 Ruger Compact Magnum -- and I just used it in late May to take a 7-foot bear on Vancouver Island that will make the SCI book. One shot, 180 yards, Hornady 225-grain SST.

I bought a KelTec P3AT today from Trader Jerry's. I am VERY happy with the deal as it was JUST under $300 after tax! It is blue steel in OD Green Polymer. It is SO small! I can get a finger in the trigger guard and ONE on the grip! I need the grip extension so I can hold it a little better. The trigger is nicer than the one on my P-11.

A Walther PPS 9mm and a Kahr PM9… couldn’t make up my mind which one, so I picked up both. I love the carry-ability of the PM9, but the PPS sure is comfortable to shoot and just a little bigger (almost identical to a “think” Glock 26)…

A DPMS Panther Lite 16, just before the prices sky rocketed. Shoots great, and I have now converted it to 22LR to save cash on ammo.

The last gun I picked up was a Marlin 39A. An old model from the 70's. Just the way I like them.
