Magtech primers - anyone use them?

I was curious to see if anyone has used Magtech primers in their reloads, and if so what kind of luck you've had with them. I'm not expecting they'll beat out Federal Gold Medal Match primers but they may work for blasting/range ammo.

With the price of 1k below $20, I'm sure it's too good to be true, but you never know, sometimes the cheap option is the good option.

I've been using them in some tuned revolvers that are "primer sensitive" and have only been reliable with Federal Small Pistol Primers in the past. Out of about 1,000 rounds, they've all fired each and every time. They may become my new favorite primer for SASS, when I can find them. Sportsman's Warehouse was out of them today, so I had to settle for my old Federals, for almost $5.00 more per thousand.

my experience in magtech large and small pistol primers mirror fred's. However, i've only used about a k in small rifle and they seem a bit on the hard side. since i've only used a 1000, im not gonna pass judgement yet, but for rifle, they seem a touch hard.

they will be all i use in pistol though until something cheaper comes along, or they get pricey enough that it doesn't matter which brand i buy.

One of the guy's I shoot Bullseye with, has gone through 10K of their large pistol primers without a dud. Sounds like the price is right (around $90 for 5K here in Texas) and their quality control is up there with Winchester, CCI, etc.

I've used their small pistol, and had good luck with them in .38spl. A buddy of mine loaded some in 9mm, and they all went bang, so I'm assuming no issues there.

But I shoot Magtech ammo all the time and it is great ammo for cheap stuff, so I would think that their components would be good as well.

Pros:
All went boom
tighter fit than WLP, larger dia.
fed better in my Lee hand primer, nickel plated slides better than brass
Cheaper than WLP

Cons:
Not one box of the K I used, had the primers right side up. Spent more time shaking my primer tool, to right the primers, than it took to prime 50 cases

I've been using the Magtech small pistol primer's to load my 40 S&W and 357 mag ammo. Out of the 3K or so that I have used, I haven't experienced any duds, none, zilch, zero. I'm pretty impress for the price and I'll continue to use them. With the hazmat and shipping fee's, I got a case of Magtech's from Midway for $122/5000. Not too shabby.

I usually buy the CCI's at the gun show's, for $19.50/1000, they work fine, but I usually get about 10 dud rounds out of every thousand.

Hard primers = good in my mind as I may be using them for 5.56 & 7.62 loads for AR & M14/FAL, respectively of course. I may just be sold on trying some of these.

Wow! That's a pretty high failure rate in my mind for a primer, of course I don't know what gun, powder, etc.
