Old Navy,
Do you mind telling where the shop is, or are you going to buy the DAO yourself? |

I would really like to buy it but I've bought 4 new guns in the last 4 months and I really don't need it. The place is Bill's gun shop, Ft. Worth , Texas. Does not take credit cards. Phone is 817-478-8833. He only had one DAO, and a couple of 75 B's.

On a lark I stopped by a local shop today during lunch. I asked if they had any CZs and the counter commando said they "didn't carry junk." I said thanks and turned around to leave, but the owner called out that they had one for a customer that changed his mind. Sure enough, they had just gotten it in the morning, the box was still sealed. NIB black poly 9mili CZ75B with 2 16 rounders. I asked how much and he said that since the other customer had forfeited his deposit when he changed his mind, and since he didn't want it crowding his counter, he'd sell it for $412 OTD.

An LEO I work with wondered why I didnt get a Glock, and the Vietnam Veteran down the road wondered why I bought Communist crap. I thought my WASR brought the heat, but my new CZ-75b really brings the stereotypes out of the woodwork!
I finally got out to shoot her this past weekend and now I know to laugh when somebody brings these kinds of comments to the table .

I wonder why CZs are given a "crap" stereotype? I am assuming that such comments originate out of ignorance, but it is interesting that they are made. The SP-01 that I have is by far my favorite pistol. The quality seems excellent, the accuracy is better than any other of my pistols, except my very customized (Volquartzenized) Mark II.
I wish people would speak out of evidence, . . . rather than simply out of their own ......butt.

Quick question, should new mags be cleaned and disassembled or are they good to go from the box?

ZeSpectre-
That makes sense. Any tips for easy reassembly of the MecGar mags? The nub on the magazine base lock hangs up on the base plate when reassembling. It's a total PIA.

1) Take the mag, insert the follower, spring, and lockplate.
2) Holding the magazine in one hand like a pistol grip (bottom up) get the spring compressed and then hold the lockplate in with your thumb. 3) With your other hand, start the baseplate on the lips and slide it in until it just barely touches the nub on the lockplate. 4) Rock the thumb that is holding the lockplate down so that it's pushed further into the mag and at the same time finish sliding the baseplate in. That's the best description I can give.

Use a third hand. Try clamping the mag body in a padded vice (not too tight though).

should be able to do it with two hands. just hold the mag withyour right hand like you're pressing down a round, but instead press the spring base in. then use the other hand to run the baseplate in.
i just got eight new CZ mags from mec-gar. i wiped all of them down, inspected for flaws, measured the feed lips, reassembled with a little oil, then loaded to maximum and tested for function with my hands. then off to the range to break them in.
