You prevented me from giving my gun a sex change ![]() "The mythical warrior-maiden of Bohemia"... sounds great! Thanks, I love the Viper and I can't recommend it highly enough for target shooting. They make them in very small quantities, and only every few months, but this gun is worth the wait. |

Make sure it sounds Great!
Afaik Viper is completed in Germany and its only Shadow "lower" with TS "upper", that should be easy job for any gunsmith. Where are you actualy from?

As you say, the Viper uses a Shadow lower, but that's no TS upper. I think the upper is Waffen Oschatz's own design. It holds a full-length 6"/152mm barrel, and it has a barrel bushing similar to a 1911.
The TS uses as 5.4" barrel, as far as I know. On czfirearms.us, there's a thread by someone who put a TS upper on a Shadow lower, so I'm sure this can be done, but I don't know if any gunsmith could do it. The Viper is made by Waffen-Oschatz: http://www.waffen-oschatz.de/index.php?site=47&sub1=114 It is distributed mainly via Frankonia: http://www.frankonia.de/375980/22764...eNumber=152252 They also make a 6" CZ 75 Sport II and a 6" CZ 97 Sport, based on the CZ 75B and the CZ 97B respectively. The CZ 75 Sport II is the most common of these guns. I've seen used ones for sale at more affordable prices. I'm from Nuremberg, by the way. Almost from your neighborhood

Here's a question for you CZ'ers - how does the standard, full-size model (CZ-75B iirc) compare in SIZE ONLY to the Browning Hi-Power? Beretta 92?

I find the BHP a bit slimmer and more compact than the 75B, and 92FS. I find the grip of the 75B a little narrower than the 92FS, with better balance also, but again the BHP is slimmest.
The Hi Power is a marvel of gun architecture. It shoots like a full size service pistol, which it is, but is well sized for the 9MM round. IMHO, it compares more to the CZ Compact line.

The BHP and the cZ75 are very comparable in size. If anything, the BHP may be slight smaller but not much. I find the BHP grip to feel smaller than the cZ but I hae not measured the circumference. I do not know how they compare to the Beretta.

The Hi Power is slightly smaller than the CZ 75, which is in turn slightly smaller than the M9. The Hi Power is a good deal smaller than the M9. I enjoy shooting all three.

I traded my used XD-40 for a brand new, still in the packing grease CZ75 with quite a few extras. I'm very happy with my new gun and did well in the trade. How do I carry it with the hammer down? All the way or at half cock?

I actually answered myself by finding a post I made over a year ago. Wasn't quite sure when I got this but now I am. Lowering the hammer to half is a breeze and I don't worry about slipping with my thumb in the way. I would be fine carrying it C/L but since this is my first DA/SA, I'd figure I would try DA out and I liked it, didn't notice it when doing draw and shoot drills.

I'm back up to two CZ's again, added a 452 Scout back to the collection to replace the one I traded for some stupid, shortsighted reason, this Scout is on my short "never sell" list
My humble CZ collection now consists of two 452's, an Ultralux and a Scout, CZ's longest and shortest 452's I'll probably restock the Scout in a full size stock as it is for me, not my niece or nephew, and of course I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to put it in a folding stock, something similar to the M1 Carbine folding stock, even though I HATE the whole "tacti-foolish" thing, it would be for purely functional reasons, not tacti-fooling it

I bought a Scout several years ago for the Grandchildren to shoot. I liked it so much that I considered restocking it also. It is just so compact and handy.
Then I realized that CZ made the American model with a sixteen inch threaded barrel. It's the perfect walking around in the woods rifle. Of course since it was threaded I had to get a silencer.

Feel slightly humbled by DanCZ's collection but I own a 75b and am picking up an 83 next week. Also have 9 CZ rifles and a really neat BRNO 611 WMR semi auto. CZs rule! Umm, kinda new here, so hi!

Just traded a CZ Compact for a P-01 with a guy here on THR. Threw a set of VZs on it and took it to the range. Very happy with the trade. Oh, and I have a set of Hakan Peks that came off the gun if anyone is interested...

I'm sure we've all had those experiences where we sold a gun, only to immediately realize it was a BIG mistake. Well, I've had a few of those myself. But the two that hurt the most were getting rid of my mint condition CZ 27 and unfired NIB (without the box) CZ 1945. I sold them both the same day to two great individuals on the Left Coast.
Not every story has a sad ending. I was VERY fortunate to receive one of my babies back. Wearing, of course, a new set of Turkish Walnut grips. I'm still holding out hope that the CZ 1945 will someday find its way back home... For now, here's some CZ 27 love... ![]() ![]() ![]()
