Will 30 round AR15 mag springs work in a 30 round Mini-14 mag?

Are they the same size?

Somebody must know this??? I'm particularily wondering if a mag spring from a typical 30 round USGI AR-15 mag would work in a PMI Mini-14 30 round magazine. Are they the same???

I can check later on this evening for sure. I gotta go to work in 15min.

Why do you want to know? You can get springs for the Mini 14 from www.brownells.com.

Yep. They are almost identical in shape and size. As for spring tension once installed, it may or may not feed right. Never tried it.

They look different to me.

I wouldn't take a spring out of one and expect it to work flawlessly in the other. Springs tend to adjust to the magazine after use and may be a problem in another magazine.

The way the springs fit into the followers looks different. They don't seem to curl the same way which may cause the follower to not be balanced properly.

Some of the Mini 14 mazines I own are a little bit longer than the USGI-AR mags I own, which leave me to think that the Mini 14 spring might work better in an AR mag, but not the other way around.
