So far, I've only put 15 rounds through it as that was all the .380 ACP ammo I could scrounge up. The revolver is nicely balanced, lightweight, and felt recoil is similar to a .32 S&W Long chambered revolver. The DAO trigger is fairly long, but workable. I plan on putting another box or two through it and then writing up a bit of a review. So far, I'm impressed with this revolver and Taurus might have a sleeper hit on its hands. I found this gun FAR easier to shoot than a P3AT, LCP, or Diamondback DB380. It's a niche gun for those that can't handle felt recoil very well, or has trouble racking a slide. For me, it's a revolver chambered for an auto cartridge and that's why I bought it. |

Thanks tinygnat219.
I have a friend that was shot in the hand by a suspect while on duty and has trouble with an auto and the 38 SPL J frame is too much recoil for her. I am going to try and find one for her to try out. I eagerly await your range report!

mesinge2 that is a beautiful Speed Six! One of those would make my son's wishes come true -- he would get my 2.25" SP101, because I would always choose the Speed Six over it.

Nice DS wheel!!! It that a three inch at the 12:30 position? I carried a 1974 Colt Detective Special off duty while in patrol and both on and off duty while in the detective division. Wonderful firearm. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting. |

It's a hell of a tack driver once you get the sights where you want them - the DA trigger is really heavy (yet smooth), but SA is quite nice. Either way, trigger reset is neither gritty or smooth, but 'lumpy' (you have to try it to know what I mean). I got to shoot it back to back against my friend's .357 GP100, and there is definitely a difference in what you feel thanks to the low bore axis design.
I do think it could use a thicker/rounder grip, because full-house .357 straight back into nothing but the web of the hand is a bit abusive after a full box, but aside from that, it's a peach. |

Cokeman, that's a S&W Model 36, no dash. Haven't had it long and just put those grips on it yesterday. I'll get a couple pics that show them off A little more. Beautiful.

back from S&W today: Night Guard 386...
...with the hammer bobbed and converted to Double Action Only.
Right now it's wearing the aftermarket Pachmayr Compac grip that is identical to the factory one with the S&W logo. Jim H.

Hello friends and neighbors // Nice modifications on an excellent carry choice to begin with.
I went with the 327ng and am throughly satisfied, my first with the "lock". After watching YT I thought the recoil would be more punishing. Due to the wider grips .357s from the model 327ng are about the same as shooting my 442 with .38 SD ammo. My 63 year old hunting buddy and 70 year old father both asked for 8 more .357 too. We all found the trigger better than expected in DA. I don't think any of us tried SA. Hope you enjoy yours. Did S&W adjust the DA trigger pull at all?

I have posted pictures of this 586 and 686 individually earlier in this thread. Here is a S&W/cocobolo theme shot I took this afternoon. I wish I had the skill and equipment to show how beautiful the cocobolo of the Ahrends grips and Northfield knife really are.
