Well folks, I do believe I problem. There's a hole in the frame of my Walker. Is this normal? It is in the recessed part right about 1/4" above the hand.

That is fairly common (the casting void) on Walkers.
It should not pose any problems........ HH

Bought my first Walker today, at a local store. I am stripping the finish from the grips. The wood is a lovely dark walnut. The gun is a beast but I love it. Will post a picture when the grips are refinished.

Riot, please do post a picture. I'm interested in seeing the new Uberti case colors you mentioned elsewhere.
Like you, one of the first things I did when I got my Uberti Walker was strip and re-finish the grips. That slick red varnish didn't do anything for me, either. |

The left grip is better than the right, the right-side case colors better than the left. The grips only have one coat of Danish Oil. More to come.

That gun in 3329 is fine. I really like one of kind guns and that one is eye candy to me.
![]() I bought this one recently and I really love it. It is a 3rd Gen. Colt Walker hand engraved in the white. It is cased with the standard accessories and even the nipple wrench is engraved. I know the pics could be better but that will have to wait until another day when I have more time. ![]() ![]()

I like the grips, Riot. I think I'll refinish mine too. That engraved Walker is awesome, 4speed.
I bought an extra cylinder from DGW and fired shots 19-32 through the Walker this weekend. I'll get it broken in and shooting straight yet. On a silhouette target at 25 yards, all shots were in the kill zone but I'd like to tighten the groups up a lot more.

Very nice pistol Strawhat. This thread is so large I just skip around. If any of you gentlemen have pics of cut down Walkers and can provide post numbers I sure would appreciate it. I think they are awsome. I have a brass frame 1860 "belly gun" hanging in my family room but it is nothing like some I have seen here.

Cased Walker prototype
Just wondered how you like my latest acquisition
....serial number 6.A copy of the prototype Walker made by Blunt & Sims in 1846. Blunt & Syms couldn't make large numbers in the time that Colt wanted the pistol, so he went to Eli Whitney to manufacture them. Before that happened, Sam Walker looked at this prototype and said, "Let me offer some suggestions to improve the gun". The rest, they say, is history...................................... Cheers, Bill |

My apologies to all..........I was too quick off the mark. I'll have to bow out of buying #6.
There are 5 remaining to be sold. Only 10 will be made. The pistol is $2995, or cased with all accessories, it's $3995. If anyone is interested, you can contact Gary Rummell at (814) 505-5906. Cheers, Bill |

Colt prototype replica
This is absolutely fantastic news, someone building replicas of obscure collector pieces - that would be
unobtainable in virtually any circumstance. I wish you all the luck, and hope there is sufficient interest in these revolvers that you can go on and build many more than ten. How about a 100% accurate version of the Walker? Other than the Thomas Haas replicas I don't think there are any???? |
