Phantom Captain. Good evening..There would be such a cloud of smoke over that range that the satelite's would pick it up and the U.S.Military would go on red alert!....

My new Walker from Taylor's
Here it is, still oily and cold from sitting on the front step. I wonder if they picked out one like they said they would, the grip is nice, but pretty ordinary I think. Fit and finish are good and I'll be cleaning up the action and smoothing some rough edges.

some people sand off the varnish and reveal fairly nice walnut grain with the tree trunk they've been using lately. Early replicas had stocks made from old Italian army rifles. they were nice too.

Thanks, I'm liking it more and more and it's only been a few hours
Looks better now that all the oil and sludge were cleaned off. The grips are nicer than I thought, in the right light, they have some figure. I like the blue and case colors better on that used Walker I picked up, but I can't keep two, so I'm selling that one.I can't wait to try this, probably have to wait until Sunday and even then, we're pushing 10 feet of snow around here, so it's not fun shooting weather yet. Walkers really are hand held cannons!

Just out of curiosity and for future reference, does anyone know of any custom bluing services? Maybe a shop that'll do charcoal bluing or color case hardening to the parts you send them?
Edit: I found one site, http://www.ronsgunshop.com/pricing.html They offer authentic bone charcoal and cyanide bluing, but I'd rather buy more guns that to drop $200 on a new color! |

![]() ![]() It would be like a real platoon of Capt. Walker's Dragoons! I bet back then was the last time so many Walkers were together and firing all at the same time. Think about that for a minute!

I just checked out Midways site and sure enough they are selling Walkers for $350. so what the heck, anything worth doing, is worth overdoing, so I ordered one. Now I'll have one for each hand.

Jct Thats a nice looking walker. Now you need to go fire that baby off.
A THR WALKER MEET that would be the greatest thing around. If we could only get a whole bunch more people involved. Anyhow it sure would be great. It seems as though im always the only one at the range shooting a WALKER. Everyone still asks a bunch of questions. But im stil the only one.

Hi Old Wornout...
"Now I'll have one for each hand." That's right ! That way you won't need to carry a cement block on one side to stay balanced ! Good thinkin' !!!

Walker, cleaned and polished
I had some time today to take the dremel and some flitx to my New Walker. Did a complete disassembly and deburred the insides and polished the sears and hammer face. I also used alcohol on the bluing and used some oxpho blue on the barrel, cylinder and backstrap. It lightened up the factory "blue/black" and makes a nice grey blue.
I'll be firing some caps to clear the cylinders and should shoot it for the first time tomorrow. ![]()
