Geezer Glide:
Your Model 15-4 Combat Masterpiece was manufactured in late 1982. jshrop6004: Your Model 36 Chiefs Special ws manufactured in the period 1962 to 1969. Serial range voer those years was 295000 to 786544. I the cylinder latch is flat then 1962-1966. If the cylinder latch is concave then 1966 to 1969. If the grips are original and have an uncheckered diamond around the grip screws then 1968 or earlier. If the grips are original and the checkering runs up to the grip screws them 1968/69.

Model 36-1 DOB.
I picked up a model 36-1 today at the local gun shop. This gun is 95% with only a slight ring around the cylinder. It has a case hardened trigger and hammer. Any idea of the value of this revolver and when it was manufactured? Thanking you in advance for your assistance. Your Model 36-1 Chiefs Special 3 inch Heavy Barrel was manufactured in 1976 or 1977. Serial range for those years was J370001 to J610000> If I had to make a guess I would say late 1976. I'm not an expert on US values as I am in Australia. I would say around $250 to $350, as S&W has been selling new 642s for around the $350 mark and this has probably depressed the value of other J frames. clintdaniel: Your Model 64-1 .38 Military & Police Heavy Barrel Stainless was manufactured in 1979 or 1980. Serial rnage for those years was 1D45001 to 1D99999. So 1979 seems more likely.

Your Model 12-3 .38 Miltary & Police Airweight was manufactured in 1979. The frame is .080 of an inch thinner than the standard steel K frame and aftermarket grips may not be an exact fit.

Your Model 13-2 .357 Magnum Military & Police Heavy Barrel was manufactured between 1977 & 1982. The serial number should fall in the range 2D0001 to 17D8900. The number you are quoting is probably an assembly number, used to track parts in the factory. The serial number will be found on the bottom of the grip frame. You may need to remove the grips to see it. Post the number and I'll give you a year. rikman: Your Model 57 .41 Magnum Target was manufactured in 1979 or 1980, the N6xxxxxx range spanned those years. As your number is high in that range I would guesstimate 1980. newfalguy101: Your Model 29-3 .44 Magum was manufactured in 1983. breeze010: Your Model 10-5 .38 Military & Police tapered barrel was manufactured in 1969 or 1970. Serial range for those years was D90001 to D330000, so 1970 seems pretty certain.
