These are already in place in Beijing. They are built specifically to deal with potential dangers during the Olympics.
The Olympics of 2008 are the pride of my country and pride of our people! TO HELL with anyone who attempts, or even thinks about disrupting the Games. That is why we have special tactical operations on standby and ready to roll. |

It shows the woman wearing a placard: "First Degree Murder". For strangling her husband in his sleep because she thought he was flirting with someone else. Turns out her suspicions were untrue, but the deed was already done, so, you know what happens next. Justice must be swift. |

Many convicted murderers regret their murders. Well, here is a chance for them to repent their sin, by saving the life of a deathly ill person elsewhere. It works well. |

My god.
Segways? Really? This is the olympics, a competition of strength, speed, and skill. And the cops are on Segways? Am I the only one who sees the ironic hilarity?

I tell ya, joking aside, those little things are quite cool. Very maneuverable, fast, and stable.
It's not a bad idea at all. I played golf recently at a course that offered these as an option for the cart and I tried one. Off road tires even, I took it over some pretty nasty terrain and I'd never been on one before. They are pretty amazing machines.

The golf cart version with off road tires is about $6000 US. Pretty steep at this point.
Standard versions like shown here are $4500 and up.

Either:
Wheelbarrow, which is indeed the correct form, means 'a frame or box for carrying a load, supported by a wheel at one end and pushed by a handle at the other'. The word has been in the English language since the fourteenth century. It is formed from wheel, of course, and barrow, a descendant of the Old English word bearwe, which referred to a similar, hand-held device for carrying loads. This Old English word is related to our word bear in the sense 'to carry'. The form wheelbarrel is an example of a folk etymology. A folk etymology is a modification of a word to associate it with a more common or easily understood word. For example, the word bridegroom was originally something like bridegome, the second element being the Old English word for 'man'. When "gome" fell out of use, "bridegome" was changed to "bridegroom" on the analogy of the common and familiar word "groom," which is at least a plausible substitute. |

I believe in the Communist ethic...The people do not know what is best for them, therefor we must force the people to be happy! Tienanmen Square comes to mind. Hey, come to think of it we had one of those incidents at Waco too! You know, come to think of it, the Communist Party was in power at both of those times! The Chinese Communists even helped Billy Boy by financing his campaign for re-election. You see how much we all have in common? |

Ever since those pesky rising gas prices, I found myself leaving my car behind more and more often and commuting to school and work on motorbike. Which is essentially, a regular mountain bike outfitted with rear motor. About 500 dollars total, did the modifications and installing all by hand. |

Scrat, she was not an "unarmed Tibetan woman" at all.
There were TWO more pictures that go with that one. However, our friend Jorg decided it was in his best interest to forget the other ones, and spin a tale based just on one of them, the one that you see. The other pictures shows the woman wearing a placard: "First Degree Murder". For strangling her husband in his sleep because she thought he was flirting with someone else. Turns out her suspicions were untrue, but the deed was already done. The case was widely known in the Northeast community where this incident took place. Her husband was a well respected community activist. No one would expect him to cheat on her, and no one had the evidence to say so. Even his children can attest that he was with the family all the time. However, this man's wife committed murder, and justice was swift on her. |
