A 27 and 30. And I must say, I think I am getting totally sucked into the fabled "Dark Side."

What's not to love? They are compact, they have a scary, evil-looking, all tactical-black color scheme, accurate, and reliable as a brick! I mean, come on; my 30 carries 11 rounds of .45!!! 11 rounds!!!! If that doesn't put a HUGE on your face, nothin' will!!!

I'm really very much so loving the lack of manual safety. I actually get more "peace-of-mind" NOT having an external safety!!!

The 27 has been reliable and accurate as heck...I shoot it very well.

The 30 had a few jams my first time out with it (they were both used) but I'm pretty sure it was attributed to bad ammo (CCI Blazer, which left my guns DIRTY as HECK! Plus they have aluminum cases, which are bad??) and the fact that my dad was shooting it each time it jammed. (He is still new, technique needs work.)

Anyhow, I just really like my Glocks. I love the all-business look. The fit and finish, to me at least, is top-notch. They just BEG to be used.

So, I carry a Para C7.45 that only holds 8 rounds of .45 but it weighs 40 ounces loaded and shows little felt recoil, doesn't jam and is a lot slimmer for concealment purposes.

It's real, it's steel and it doesn't jam. I carry mine all day, at work; how about you?

drjones, i hear ya. about a month ago i picked up a g26 after avoiding glocks for years. i liked that little pistol so much that
i decided i needed one in .45acp too. picked up a g30 aweek later
while i will never part with my 1911s,i feel that theres plenty of room in my safes for a few glocks.

I carry a 27 and picked up a used 34 (you couldn't tell) a couple of weeks ago. I really like mine too. They are fun to shoot, and neither one has ever malfunctioned.

i've been in love with glock for years now for the reasons you stated. most important to me being super reliable, super durable and so easy to maintain. priced to move as well.

if they would just hurry up and release the slimline .45! right now the 30 is my favorite.

Yep, love my glocks. I have, amoung other pistols and revolvers, the G19, G22, G23, G32C, G27, G26, G30 and G21.

As you can tell, I enjoy shooting. My Glocks have never let me down and are as good, in my hands, as any other handgun I own.

That said, my next buy will be a 1911 of some style or other. I enjoy shooting to much to declare, as some do here I can see, that any one gun is the end all be all.

Glocks, Colts, Sigs, Browning, Ruger, and all the rest, fine guns for those that like to shoot.

I have to admit, I am in love with my G19. First Glock I owned but wont be the last. A 10MM Glock is on the list to have.

Picked it up used on a trade with a fellow TFLer. 2nd Gen born in Jan of 91. Shoots like a dream and looks like new.

Glocks have become my standard carry pistol, training pistol, and everyday pistol. It's not so much because there aren't any other good pistols out there - I love SIG's, for example (that should please Ala Dan!!! ), but on a pastor's salary, I simply can't afford them. I've standardized on Glock, because I'm a firm believer in having guns that shoot/work/handle the same way for consistency in training. I train with 19's (9mm. ammo. is much, much cheaper when you look at firing thousands of rounds a year), carry 23's and 27's, and am just venturing into .357 SIG territory with the 31 and 33. I also have a 30 for the days when I'm in a .45 ACP sort of mood.

I've disposed of most other pistols except for a good 1911 (on the grounds that everyone should own at least one of these!) and a couple of good .22's.

The thing about Glock that one simply can't argue with is their legendary reliability. The darn things just keep on going! This, to me, is the single most important aspect of any defensive weapon - it has to be as close to 100% reliable as it can get. Everything else is secondary in importance. Glocks really shine in the reliability department, and that's why they get my vote. SIG's would, too, if I could afford them (sigh!... ). All other brands seem to have a less-than-stellar reliability record, and thus fall off my radar screen (except as fun guns or guns that will be acceptable if customized).

OK, having offended so many fans of other pistols, let the flaming begin! I'm wearing my Nomex Victoria's Secret protective gear...

Nah, no flames, I just don't understand the fascination. I don't like the way they feel, I don't like the way the weight sits, I despise the fit and finish. I can see having one for a knock around carry gun but other than that I just can't get into them.

that's funny. i feel the same way about every other pistol. nothing else will last as long or be as easy to take completely down with a punch(i've used a ball point pen innard before). they're simple and reliable. whenever i consider another pistol i remember the above and loose interest cause of the hassle of conventional pistols.
