What gun would I not buy? Not really a collector, so anything in that realm or a rare caliber. Not looking for anything I can't afford to shoot. My guns are .22, .45, .357, .223. Common stuff. |

I was thinking that Ruger should go into bankruptcy with GM, for belatedly copying others designs and over pricing them.

It's not testosterone koolaid Dallas Jack. I guess some folks are just more sensitive to recoil than others. My 12 year old son hunts with my old Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 and does great with it. Wasn't trying to ruffle panties here.

An M-16 - I personally lost three friends in the Marines due to an M-16 malfunction. They jammed horribly while in the desert ;so bad many of us risked court marshall by dumping them for AK's .In the Arctic in cold weather operation they were absolutly worthless in the freezing cold weather. The Norwiegian H&K G3 work flawlessly-My biggest dread in the Marines was carrying one of those p.o.s.' in combat.Thank providence i went into Force Recon and I could choose the weapon I wanted.

Wow. It's amazing how many guns many of you hate. I like anything that can send lead downrange. There are many guns that I would not purchase for myself, but I certainly don't hate them.
Anyone who hates Taurus, Smith, Glock, H&K, Ruger, and Sig, please send any or all of your unwanted firearms to me...I'll even pay shipping! |

Any glock. I like my fingers attached to my hand.
Plus, it'll start an argument.

- Any Kimber 1911. I had one bad experience with Kimber that continued to get worse. I will never buy from or do business with them again. Gun didnt work, Kimber couldnt fix it, and their customer service could have cared less.
-High Point. I have owned 3 HPs. They are decently fun to shoot, but not reliable. They just arent practical for me, but I never paid over $50 for any of the ones I got. - Desert Eagle. reasons already stated by others. Beretta 92: Carried one in Iraq, not reliable.

Never buy gun: well that would be any handgun with an accessory rail. Too bad really because that eliminates some damn fine guns but I won't plunk down hard earned money for something that makes me want to spew every time I look at it.

If it's cheap enough, there's really not any gun that I wouldn't buy. But, assuming it's not dirt cheap and is priced comparable to what they generally go for, I will never buy an XD, Sig, browning, or any hunting rifle or sporting shotgun over about $400 unless it's something really, really spiffy.

So much dumbness in this thread... I can't think of a gun I wouldn't buy. There are some I wouldn't pay more than a dollar for, like a Hi Point.

Any handgun with a plastic frame. I don't understand the appeal of these guns at all. Anything with a striker, or a bobbed hammer.
Anything DAO. Any of the really cheapo brands, like Jennings, etc. Any 1911, they're always overpriced, and I dislike the grip angle/shape, and a lot of the really pretty ones really don't shoot all that well compared to non 1911s that cost less than half as much. Any Ruger revolver. Ugly. My Sp101 was ok, but I didn't miss it at all after I sold it. Any AR, regardless of caliber. If I want an assault type rifle, give me an AK. Anything that costs what a decent used car costs, and anything I wouldn't be able to shoot without dropping it's value immensely. Any oddball caliber that requires ridiculously expensive ammo (.380 doesn't count!) |

Well I pretty much assume that we all list the lorcien/ jennings/ other pot motel atrocities as never by guns. But for me specifically, I don't see the need or interest for a single action revolver. Just nothing there for me.
