High Power clone(FEG PJK-9BP) prices

Hi Guys!

My first post on the new forum, thanks to all you good folks who make it possible! Anyway, I'm in the market for a High Power clone from FEG. At one time SOG had these, but they're apparently out. Anybody got a line on a supplier for these?

Thanks!

Michael

The PJK-9HP is the true clone, the P9M which SOG had apparently has 3 locking lugs on the barrel instead of 2. It LOOKS like a HI-Power, but is slightly different internally. Probably still a good gun for $199. I think it still uses Hi-Power mags. May be an improvement to the design, possibly stronger, don't know. If you want a true "clone" get a PJK-9HP or an Arcus SA. The Arcus is styled a little more boxy, but parts interchange with HP.

Or, get a CZ and be even happier... Just kidding - mostly.

I have yet to find a permanent supplier of the high power clone. I hope I can find a cheap priced one at the gun show next month. Otherwise, you can always try the auction sites to see what's floating around.

I have the FEG Hi-power and luv it. New they go around $225 and at least the clips interchange with Browning High Powers. Did some research on the FEG. Seems they tooled up to produce it for the Hungarian military but was rejected because the military wanted a more 'modern design'. I forget what pistol they adopted but their loss is my gain. For what its worth, I've had several hi-powers in the past and the FEG compares very well, especially the blueing and accuracy.

I picked up a new PJK-9HP a few years ago for $199. The magazine it came with (it came with only one) was junk, but the pistol is fine. A very good value.

Spackler, your magazine was probably crap because a dealer stripped the original hicap mag/mags out of the box and then replaced it with a piece of crap. If you get your FEG throught the right channels you can get them with highly desirable 13rd hicaps. The problem is that less reputable dealers will take said hicaps and make lots of money off them separately.

No unfortunately I can't because my understanding of this is second hand. The 9HP is on my buy list as well. I get the impression that its a crap shoot although some dealers are more trustworthy than others. Search TFL and fnhipower.com, those sites can probably tell you more than I can. Like you I thought SOG was selling these guns with hicaps but I checked and the 9HP isn't listed there.

Incidentally the bit about hicaps is only true of some FEG guns IIRC. For a while they were burning off their stock of military contract guns and those came with at least one hicap (IIRC two). If their inventory of military guns is gone then you/we may be out of luck, but I don't believe this is the case. In any case the FEG should have come with 2 mags not one, that alone makes me suspicious in Spackler's case.

I know this sort of hicap stripping has happened with CZ75 mils and I believe it has also happened with FEG-9HPs because both these guns can come with hicaps NIB under the right circumstances. Good luck.

The one mag that mine came with was actually a 13-rounder, but it was a real piece of junk. No manner of smoothing, polishing, or feed lip manipulation would make it function. I believe it was a Triple-K mag.

I'm man enough to admit I might be wrong, but I still don't think so.

Guys, just to let you know, I bought a FEG PJK-9HP for $230 at the small gun show at the fairgrounds in Louisville yesterday. Finish is a touch rough, but not much worse than some of the FM hipowers I saw there @ twice the price. Looking forward to doing a little smithing on this one, and then shooting it!

Anybody got a contact number and /or website for KBI so I can get a manual?

Michael

Michael,
Did the same thing with my Christmas present FEG.
Do a search over at TFL to see a post on mine. It's a
great project.

CDNN still sells military surplus 17rd mags that work great and are high quality. They include a clip loader free with each magazine, you will need it!

I'm not sure the FEG PJK-9HP is currently being imported. I had a deal of a time finding one earlier this month. Finally did, but ended up paying just a bit more than I wanted to.
