Please see here for a list of manufacturers and firearms that have been recalled by the factory, or for which warnings have been issued. Click on any recall/warning to see more details.

Ruger recalled all of the old 3 screw single action revolver models so they could refit them with the transfer bar safety.
If you have a new model or a converted 3 screw there's no need to worry. A lot of people prefered to have theirs stay the way they were made and know to only carry five chambers loaded. |

Everything on that list is not a recall.
If it has a big red R to the left it is a Recall If it has a big red W to the left it is only a Warning. ANd don't forget to check the dates. Some things on that list are from the 1970s. That doesn't mean you still don't need to check your older guns to make sure they were updated. But if the recall was in 1978 and the S&W Model 19 you have was made in 1985 you don't have to worry. |

While you are there see and use the Virtual Comparison Microscope (VCM) to match unknown bullet to a standard. Great program for forensics.

Concerning this list - - -
First of all, thanks to Preacherman, who discovered this list and originated the thread. Gunsmithing & Repairs is indeed a good place to float the thread.
HOWEVER, it is not truly a topic for discussion, but rather for information. Therefore, I'm going to prune out all comments which do not add anything substantitive, and close the thread to further entries. If you have some item which clearly NEEDS to be included, please PM or e-mail a forum moderator and we'll see about including it. Thanks, everyone - - - Johnny Guest Moderator Gunsmithing & Repairs Forum
