Best shots fired yet.

Oh this is scary. I recently shot my best group ever with a centerfire handgun. 25yds, isoceles freestyle, iron sights. 1-1.5 second per shot. 20 rds. on a NRA 25yd pistol target it scored 187-5x out of a possible 200. only one 7 ring that I knew I threw.

The scary part? It was with my Glock 34 !!! Still with the crappy factory rear sight too. The trigger I have vastly improved and the front sight is nice too, but heavens, it's a plastic gun! I've never owned a match 1911, my Series 70 is limited by the stock sights and my everyday match/carry USGI gun has shot some nice groups lately but not centered with the fixed sights. I've done better with .22s too, but I kinda suprised myself with this gun, I have yet to be unhappy with it. Anyone else getting good hits with their Block?

GOOD SHOOTING SAILOR!!!! Now practice practice practice and reproduce those groups! Its always a good feeling to see someone do that with a stock pistol.

I have only ever owned one glock, LOVED the reliability and it fit my hand reasonably well. It would not stack the shots though, 6" at 25 yards was pretty darn good with cheap ammo. The best it EVER did was 4.5" at 25 yards with Federal GMM in the hands of a state bullseye champion. Still minute of badguy, but not accurate enough for me at the time so I sold it.

I shot a 40cal Glock recently that was reasonably accurate, around 2.5" at 25 yards for me from a sandbag and 3.25" or so offhand. It can be done, but mine would not do it.

If yours shoots that good KEEP IT, best of both worlds!

Cool

Probably my best ever. 17 rounds in about 25 seconds at 7 yards. (Yeah, I know I'm not a competitive combat shooter; this is my best.)

(The target is a B-29, a silhouette; this is the relevant part, i.e. the part I made holes in.)

With my Glock 17.

Good shootin' is good shootin'! Don't discount it because it's only 21' or because it was the result of shooting a polymer (if you spend more than $20 for it, it's polymer not plastic!). I've seen shooters at the range w/ very expensive guns & all the cool doo dads and still could hit the side of a barn

For whatever reason, Glocks seem to be easy to shoot. I am a devotee of the 1911 for competition, but when I was invited to shoot a Glock match, I had nothing to bring. The fellow that invited me loaned me one of his Glocks in 40 S&W. I had never even practiced with a Glock before that day, but I shot the match and did quite well. I still don't own a Glock, why I don't know. But every time I go to a gun show or gun shop, I am magically attracted to 1911's and revolvers.

I'm sure impressed. Nice going!

I used to be better at longer ranges before my eyes started to go (just normal aging-related presbyopia, nothing sinister, I hasten to add).

And despite being 48, I don't seem to have calmed down enough to be a good long-distance marksman yet. I'm still more interested in being fast.
