Using canes and walking sticks when I go walking for exercise. I just don't trust my right ankle anymore.

Got a new cane. The Spousal unit and Childlings returned from the M-I-L's place in Aridzona with a dogwood cane. It is actually maybe and inch or inch and a half to long for me so will be getting cut a little. Seems the handle end is made from the root ball but I am not sure.

Cameras are "Somewhere in the luggage" so no picture yet.

Wife carried it in hand on both Aridzona to Dallas leg and Dallas to Florida leg. She did put it in the over head bin once at her seat.

She had one of those Pioneer Trek changes in Dallas (on the way out only two gates over and on the way back apperrently in another county) and struggling along with the kids, carry on , and my new cane one of the courtesy carts saw her and assumed she was disabled and needed a riddle. She argues but the Texan insisted he giver her and the kids a ride so the Trek was not too bad.

As it turned out after five hours driving last night to go back and forth to Orlando International in her van, I needed the cane today.

I don't trust my right ankle, left ankle, or left knee. I carry a cane all-the-time.

I've got one on the back rack of my 4-wheeler here riding piggy back.

The cane I carry is made by Cold Steel. It is not legal. I do not care..... Seems odd to me that I can legally carry a .45 Automatic but not that cane...

There is an oriental store near where I live that carries the coolest canes. They look like something a villain would have, but cooler :-) I could never pull it off, but it would be cool to see someone rock it.

The only "illegal" canes I know of are sword canes, and IIRC Cold Steel makes a couple.

How about the Remington Arms dog headed .22 RF walking cane of the late 1800's?

As it happens I was looking at a cut away drawing of one last night in a old Gun Digest Annual.

I wonder if Professor Moriarity's air gun cane would be illegal, eh, Watson?

Yes, that was my understanding also. I just wanted to make sure. You never know what may be declared illegal next.
