Now, I'll have a .51 Navy, ROA, Super Companion, .63 Remmy pocket model, AND A 58 REMINGTON! You just can't have any sort of collection without a 58 Remington.

I finally got a 2011 Remington 5 1/2" to go with my 2010 8" New Army. Wasn't sure how I would like the non-traditional shorter barrel. Well, I like it a lot! I borrowed the conversion cylinder from the older gun for my new sidekick - meet Shorty Kirst:

Thinkin' I might get a conversion, too. I gotta see how she shoots, first. I have a stainless 4 5/8" blackhawk, though, so a couple of spare BP cylinders may be the way I go with the Remmy.

Berkley, I think you'll like it even better after you shoot it some. It's very handy. It also looks great. I love mine.
I wonder how you'd go about removing the cylinder pin for a complete strip. The loading lever latch gets in the way on mine.
I may have to file down the front sight on mine to get POA/POI to line up. I haven't tried to shoot mine for groups or accuracy yet. Just been plinking with it.
I guess I'll have to use my phone camera to get a pic of my Pietta Colts, Rems, and ROA (if I can get it). Then I can post it here, in the Colt club, and in the ROA club and become an official member of all three.

I traded for it at Sunday's SASS match. Traded a Pietta 1860 Army with white grips for it. He wanted the Army & I couldn't say no to the Remmie.

This is my STEEL framed 1858 Pietta 'Buffalo' model in .44 with target sights.
Been out of my posesion for over 12 yrs, but finally got it back, cleaned up and functioning. It still needs a new cylinder retaining pin and a loading lever screw, besides that, she works just fine. Can't wait to get a conversion cylinder.

I wish I had known about this site before today. I have already spent 3+ hrs soaking up some of the knowledge thats being shared on here..

So.. for my first 'posts', i think that i will share my friends with you.

These here pics show my favorite revolvers of all time. They started out of a pair of Pietta clones. One is being konverted, still need to attack it with a dremel and buy an ejection rod, i am just going for open gate, nothing fancy, but may buy a gated plate later. All leather by me, and i am working on a set of cylinder holders at the moment.
"antiquing" was done a few years back by first stripping the blue off with a gel (cant remember the name of it now) and then spending a lot of time with Casey's Plum Brown, a blowtorch and wire wool. To finish them off I finished off the internals with lapping compound and cleaned up the mess that can happen with 'factory machining'.
Overall, these are a real nice pair, or so i think.

I finally did it. I loaded and holstered my '58 to investigate someone shooting on our property. Despite a safe full of more appropriate modern guns.
Is there a cure for this?

Ironically, I sacrificed my ol' cowboy hat for making felt wads for my '58's. Not much left of it.

I just ordered TODAY an 1858 Remington. Yes is a brass frame gun, but it is mine and not only my first pistol, it is the first GUN I have ever bought myself. I have a Winchester 30-30 my father-in-law gave me, but this is the first gun I have ever bought. Does this count as being part of the club?
