What's your game?
What is it now, what do you want to try?
Now: IPSC(USPSA) L10 and Production. 3-gun. Occasional IDPA. What I want to try: 1. Highpower 2. More tactical Shotgun, hard to find. 3. USPSA Revolver 4. GSSF

Now it's mostly IDPA. All four divisions.
Tactical rifle and shotgun matches. Occasionally shoot steel with rifle, pistol and shotgun. I'm not too competitive anymore as arthritis, bad eyesight, and being out of shape have taken their toll. I used to shoot USPSA and shot in the first three Friends of Camp Perry Matches with both my AR-15 and M1-A. I have shot High Power rifle with my M-1 Garand. I used to shoot sporting clays, trap and skeet. I shot Bullseye years ago. It's all good! I don't know what's left out there to try.

I never thought I would compete until I was invited to a forum shoot in Easton PA. (FFF) I had such a great time I joined IDPA and a couple months later USPSA. So I now shoot IDPA and USPSA. Gotta Love it!!

I started with 3 postiion smallbore in college. then I shot IPSC for years, at the start of "limited class" I was into it pretty heavy whilst living in Texas.
I moved back to South Carolina, and got very involved in Chevy Team Challenge for about 3 years. From there I found out about Sportingclays, and its been a crazy ride since. So now.... I shoot Sportingclays, both English Sporting and FITASC. English Sporting is what most of us here in the US and the UK call Sportingclays, and FITASC[ an acronym for the French organization that administers the discipline] is what the rest of the world shoots....here in the US some call it "International Clays". FITASC is generally more challenging to shoot, and certainly more difficult/costly to run a shoot. That explains why we don't see as much of it, but it is without a doubt, the best game I have EVER played. On the world level, it is the closest a "sporting shooter" will get to the Olympics. I also shoot a bit of IDPA, just to keep my hand in, and hang out with my old pistol buddies. I'm looking for something to compete with on a smaller level with a rifle, as I LOVE shooting offhand rifle....so if anybody wants to meet out back and shoot cow pies @ 500 yards with .22's for a nickel bet, count me in

ISSF Bullseye, mostly Standard Pistol and Air Pistol (A-class in both.) I shoot some NRA Bullseye on occasion, as yet I'm unclassified.
IDPA, SSP and ESP, Sharpshooter in both. Steel Challenge and 3-Gun when I get the chance, Highpower once in a blue moon. I'll shoot anything, though. - Chris

IPSC primarily, with forays into Cowboy, IDPA, and Steel as the mood (or the prize table) strikes me.
Setting up the Texas 3-Gun Championship here at my local range this April...so the Local Suspects have been dabbling in IPSC-rules 3-Gun so that we all don't look like total rubes. Alex |

Field rifle events (i hesitate to call them a game, since they have a purpose other than being good ad their limited scope)
The occasional field pistol event, and once a year Testing stages at the Swat magazine match. I also do Obsolite military bolt action rifle. I'd like to try some Highpower matches with my number4 mk1 or my dad's NM m-1A. |

Piccolo, how long have you been doing it, and what are your scores? Your scores should be climbing, or at least jumping occasionally. If not, you're not learning from your mistakes, or really examining your position. Making Expert is actually pretty easy, once you get your brain in gear.

IDPA mostly, average probably 2 matches a month for the last several years. I try to make it to a Glock (GSSF) match a couple times a year. I really like Bowling Pins, used to shoot in a weekly club match. The club closed and I haven't ran across any pin matches nearby since.

I'm classified in the following:
IDPA - Revolver and SSP USPSA - Production, Limited 10, Limited Not worth a darn in any of them! I'm going to give ESP in IDPA this winter a go and maybe some PPC and bowling pins.

It's been off/on for since about '96. Remember, I'm a seaman and well over 1/2 my life is spent out here, so I really can't get out as much as I ought to, and when I'm home time is at a real premium.IE little if any time for practice. My scores have somewhat improved over time, and 90% of my shooting has been on reduced courses. The few times I've shot across the course, my scores didn't change too much. I think I mentioned on another forum that my biggest hassle is offhand. I've got some kind of a body tremor that really FUBARs my offhand, and that keeps me from doing well in it. My eyesight isn't too good these days, either. My rapids are generally mid-90s, my 600 is about 175, a good day 180. My offhand is generally in the mid 50s. Ouch. It's been this way for years. One interesting note: A couple days after 9-11 I was pretty upset and shot a 437, my best score yet. I tried to use it as sort of a wedge(whatever) to get back into the service. (No dice.Much too old) I just picked up a 1/9 AR and I think I can work with it to improve my offhand, as there's a 100 yard range nearby and I can shoot it cheaply. I'm going to try 10 o/h rounds/day and see if that helps. BTW Don't get a certain salesman of NM goods started! It's all we need.[ ]
