I haven't received my package yet, but I got a notice in the mail that I was given a gift membership. Is that how the Friends & Family discount thing considered by the NRA?

no luck

I called today (twice actually) I got two different operators both told me my sponsor would have to call and give them my info. Does anyone have any tips as to how they got around this? Which number did you call?

When I called I told them I would like to apply for the $300 life
membership. It took about 10 minutes to sign me up. I did call
after 5pm. Maybe I got one of the operators that didn't have her
butt on her shoulders. The lady I spoke with was very nice and
helpful.

Yes , we get a huge kickback for getting people to join!

We get more support for the 2nd Ammendment!
Do we need any more perks to do a great thing?....

Why is there a need to GET something??

I get great magazines.....I think that is plenty!

If you Love your Firearms.....
If you Love to Hunt.....
If you Love Shooting Sports.....
If you Love your Country.....
If you Love upholding the Constitution....

Like the poster earlier stated....referring to JFK quote:

It should not be what can I get out of NRA for a few dollars, but what can I do for the NRA to help me fight to defend our constitution!

It took me exactly 41 days from when I made the call until I got my packet.

Hurry Guys, this may not last past this week.

Will41, the answer is yes, you can. I have already done so for 5 people, all before I got all the paperwork. Just call them on the life member hotline, get your member number and then have your friends use that number.

Agreed--I strongly encourage anyone who can take advantage of this discounted offer to do so immediately. I as well as others have posted the necessary information in this thread regarding sponsorship.

Big Brother will forever continue to try and erode our 2nd Amendment rights so the more members (be-it Life or Annual) the stronger our chances to uphold our rights--my worst fear right now is a SC Justice either expiring or step down during BO Administration thereby allowing this clown to appoint yet another liberal justice which would be disastrous and sway the current and precarious 5-4 Pro-2nd Amendment ruling against us!.

-Cheers

Thank You

I have been a lurker for a long time. I came upon this thread and took advantage a week or two ago. My payment has been processed so it should only be a matter of time before the packet arrives in the mail.

I wanted my first post be a sincere thank you to PT92, longknife12, and others like them (I'm sure I'm leaving others out).

Again, thank you to my fellow NRA life members.

I took the plunge today. The discount is still in effect, I called 703-267-1000 and asked for life member services. After about a 10 minute hold, I spoke to one of the ladies, and it was very easy.

Thanks to Yosemite Sam, longknife, PT92 and all those other life members who contributed to this thread.

I just got my life member materials.

It took 4 phone calls last month, where I got clueless people who had no idea what i was talking about. Then I got bounced to a very ornery lady in Life Member Services who sounded exasperated and told me that it was supposed to be a gift and not a 'sponsorship.' But she made a change to my EPL account and then bounced me elsewhere that hung up on me.

Tried again, got someone else who took my sponsor's NRA number, tried to upsell a membership upgrade, and eventually took my credit card #.

Funny thing is that it took a few weeks for anything to show up online, then I was able to log into the nra2012.org site and 'sponsor' other people.

Many thanks to longknife12 for sponsoring me and putting up with my PMs!

Can I get a lifetime membership for $300 if I've never been a member? I just moved back to the US from Canada and I'm more appreciative now of my right to own and would like to join. If I can, will someone sponsor me please (I'll wait on a PM). Thanks in advance.
