Private Land to Target Shoot In Hampton Roads VA?

I am not sure what section to post this, if this is wrong please move it. But does anyone from around the area of Hampton Roads Virginia know of any land owners that allow responsible gun owners to use their land for target shooting?

Thanks for any information.

I should have clarified, we are more than willing to pay for this privilege and clean up after our shooting session 100%.

And even outside of the Hampton Roads area is fine, we're not afraid of a road trip.

Who assumes the major liability issue? You?

There are several land owners that allow people to hunt on their land (for a nominal fee). I'm not a hunter but I'd assume the same liability issues exist there as it does with plinking no?

I'd certainly be willing to sign a waiver if need be.

Where are you in Hampton Roads? I have some friends that shoot at a huge pit on Sundays when weather permits. But it is up in the Kimarnock area. I am located at the Newport New / York County line and it is about an hour and fifteen minute drive from here.

I am in Chesapeake VA, Google tells me I am roughly 2hrs from Kimarnock. While pretty far we already drive almost an hour to the only Outdoor range in our area and pay $15/hr per person to use the facility so this could very well be worth it.

Any more info on this pit? Does one of your friends own the land with it in it?

Well my daughters BF knows the owner. The "Pit" is several hundred yards across with a very large mound towards the center.

They have some targets (Homemade and putchased) setup near the edge for downward fire and some on and around the mound when shooting from inside the pit. Last trip there were 5 others. Several handguns... An AR... Shotgun and crossbow.

We went thru a couple hundred rounds before the weather turned.

I have some friends down in Chesapeake. I will hit them up to see if they know of any place near there.
