I bought a DoppleDuffel to use before my recent deployment to Afghanistan. It's a terrific way to carry about a week's worth of gear in a package rapidly configurable for aircraft or short backpack carry. I frequently used it to travel on rotary and fixed-wing flights, and carried it up to a klick before and after flights.

After almost a year of deployment, and R&R in Europe, except for wearing some CH-53 lube, the DoppleDuffle is still in fine shape.

The picture on the left shows the DoppleDuffle open. You can see the large useful space and two of the mesh pockets. These are good for small items like batteries, chargers, portable hard drives and extra dog tags. The picture on the right shows my gear before I left for CRC at Fort Benning. You can see I added two Camelbak water bottle carriers and an additional Maxpedition cargo pocket. The picture also gives you an idea of the DoppleDuffle's size compared to a traditional "assault pack" size.

Pictures added. I have no financial interest here, but for frequent travelers who may have to carry their gear further than the typical "through the airport" haul, this is a great product.
