Sling Suggestion : AR-15

Looking for a good Sling suggestion to avoid buyers remorse. It will be fitted on a D.D. m4 v5 LW

I'm thinking a two-point convertible. Around $50 (or less) would be preferred. Something with a small pad for extended hiking might be nice also.

The D.D. has ambidextrous and rear QD mounts so I can put a swivel a number of places and there's the standard slots on the Magpul Butt as well so I'm thinking it should accept about anything.

Anyway, looking to hear the good, the bad, the ugly to avoid wasting money through trial and error. Cheers

Just make sure the sling does not aim your AR at your feet, legs or other body parts.

Viking Tactics has the best sling. Link is to the padded wide sling, available direct or from other vendors. Standard also available. I use the standard for 3-gun matches which require a sling. Has short and long, pull the release to go from short to long.

This is my favorite convertible sling: http://prostores2.carrierzone.com/se...a/Detail?no=57

The Vickers and BFG also work well, but don't convert to a 1 point, if that's a issue.

I like 2 point/1 point slings like the Magpul MS2 and MS3.

I'm also a fan of the Vickers and Viking Tactics adjustable two points -- I mostly use the Vickers, but either works well.

Viking Tactic or Magpul ms3. Both are great slings.

I agree except I lean toward the VTAC myself. I have two VTACs and added QD swivels to both. Works well but not convertable to single point as already mentioned.

THIS. ^

The Vickers VCAS sling is the the best 2-point sling I've ever encountered. The VTAC is a great sling as well, but the VCAS edges it out slightly in my opinion.

Either are better than the Magpul MS2/MS3 slings.

another +1 for the Vickers (VCAS) slings. Can be made into a 2 ⇒ 1 with an IWC tri-glide.

Another vote for the VTAC.

The VCAS was okay.

I like a quick adjustable 2 point on side swivels. I make my own, which have a built in arm loop for quick sling-supported shooting when a little precision is called for. If you want a good sling to get off the shelf, the vickers/blue force is a good one.

Since I use one sling for a wide variety of weapon, I chose one with the maximum varieties of sling-ends available. I went with an Urban ERT sling.

One-, two-, or three-point adaptability
Male or female sling loop adapters
MASH hook
H&K hook
Quick-disconnect button adapters
Buy one sling and leave the adapters attached to the weapon.,
