IWB for tactical pistol class

I'm seriously thinking about taking a 1-2 day combat pistol class. Right now I carry every day IWB in a fairly inexpensive all-in-one holster. Obviously this will not do for a class where I will be drawing and holstering 100+ times a day. I want to train with the same rig I carry, so I am looking for a good jeans and t-shirt IWB rig for my Walther PPS that will still be suitable for a shooting class. I've heard most instructors prefer OWB, but that is not an option for my everyday carry.

I've looked at Blade-tech, Raven, and Crossbreed. I am open to Kydex, Leather, or both. I'm a fairly big guy (6-1, 225) and I work outdoors in the texas heat wearing jeans t-shirt at least 100 days a year. Any suggestions? Has anybody else taken a combat shooting class and had problems doing the draw-fire-holster drills with IWB?

I think you're definitely on the right track by wanting to train with what you carry with every day. I've always thought it was odd when people take a class designed around concealed carry with a full sized pistol and a duty holster, and then leave the class carrying a subcompact in their pocket.

I have a Crossbreed super tuck that I rally like. It is very comfortable and does a great job hiding guns like Sig 228s and Glock 19s, so I have no doubt it would work well with something as small as a PPS. I've not taken a high round count class with it, but would have no hesitation to use it in one. If you're working in a hot environment, I would recommend going with the horse hide option, as it is a better choice if you're going to be sweating a bit. Don't forget a good gun belt as well, it really helps conceal the gun and makes it more comfortable to carry as well.

I've done classes with IWB, OWB, sm of the back and appendix carry. Sm of the back was a paddle holster, IWB was kydex leather, OWB was leather and appendix was kydex and larger. All in all I am most comfortable with the IWB. I'm hardly ever sitting so it works for me. If you like the crossbreed check out old faithful holsters.

I designed this holster with just such a use in mind. It is also the most comfortable all Kydex IWB on the market.

Nice, do you make one with clips instead of loops?

I've taken a few classes with IWB holsters with no problems. I have used the Comp-Tac Infidel for a kydex holster and the Milt Sparks Summer Special II in leather. Both are great holsters and I feel Milt Sparks holsters are well worth the wait.

Just a suggestion, but try the loops. They're much more secure, and won't let the holster move around like clips. I guarantee you'll thank me later.
