If anyone comes across an 8lb keg of IMR4895 please post here or pm me. I'm trying to find some for the upcoming year for f-class matches.

Thanks.

If you have Hornady LNL progressive Midway USA has a lot of the shellplates on clearance for $22.
Saw that but was afraid they were preparing for a revised design. Why would shellpates be "on clearance"?

.

Is it the powder you're after or the price/economy of the (8) pounder? There may be (4) pounders or even multiple (1) pounders available.

I'm after the powder because I use it a lot, but economy would be nice if I can.

Not to confuse "on sale" with "clearance" or "close out". You typically do not have a clearance on something you intend to keep in stock. There could, however, be a "clearance" on calibers that don't move and which will not be restocked, effectively a "closeout" by caliber.

Clearing inventory because they are over stocked? That's my guess.

But again, clearance is supposed to mean ALL of it, FOREVER. That is as opposed to a sale (inventory reduction or loss leader promotion).

I didnt look up the shell plates but my experience with dealing with midway, they will offer a certin number of units at a clearence price. This doesent mean that they are no longer carrying a certin item. Sometimes the available quanity doesnt appear until the number sold gets near the alloted quanity. I'm not saying that this is how they do business, just my observation from doing business with them for several years.

Before I read to the latest posts I viewed the pics of the BulletHead .223's. They just do not look right and I have handled my share of these things. If they don't pass my eyeball test I'll pass
I took a chance and ordered some. They should arrive in a few days... I'll detail my findings.
They arrived today. Rather than derail this thread, I posted the review separately:

Weight varied from a low of 55.2 grains to a high of 55.4 grains. Length varied from .747" to .754". Diameter was consistent at .224", with one just tipping the calibers over to .2245" ...

In summary, I'm satisfied with the quality of these bullets, and they should make excellent plinking rounds - which is all I'm after in such large quantities. At 8.5 cents per bullet (shipped), they're the best deal I've found.
Thank you for the review.

The latest from Powder Valley

Quote:
Received a couple decent shipments of primers. 1 million Winchester available and 2 million CCI now available. Also received notice from Accurate and Ramshot powder. We should have some by Wednesday and it looks like we may receive Tula primers next week.

Thanks for the heads up.

If you are looking for W231 or HP-38 and can't find any, Walkalong and many others posted Ramshot Zip is very close in performance.

FYI,

Powder Valley updated their website to reflect new shipments of Accurate/Ramshot powders. Lots of 1/8 lb showing for Alliant but not so much for Ramshot - http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/

Hurry if you are looking for popular powders!

BDS,
You are the man! Thanks, that's some tedious work, posting all of this info all of the time. You should get a percentage, a finders fee of some sort!

Not at all. You guys already chipped in and got me a nice range bag and tools. Thanks again!!!

Just glad to be of service when I come across good deals while shopping for myself/family/friends/neighbors/coworkers and post to share with THR members and guests.

I consider this part of my "pay it forward".

And Jesse Heywood is the one who gave us the heads up on Powder Valley shipments.
