Encore 45LC

OK--Educate me. If you have an Encore with the 45LC barrel-can you shoot 454 casul and 460's thru that barrel or does it "run the otherway"?

I cant speak from experience, but I think you have it backwards. .460 can also shoot 454 and .45lc, but exceeding the weapons chambering (as you would be doing by loading a 460 or 454 in a 45lc barrel) could be a recipe for disaster.... best case is they would not even chamber.

By a 460 barrel and shoot the 454 and 45.

Buy a 45 colt barrel and shoot 45 colt only.

Yes, backwards.

However, given that you have a break action Encore, I'm not even certain that the gun would lock up with either of the larger cartridges in the chamber. That would be something I'd like to try, but only with spent, unloaded brass. The brass used for 454 casull and 460 S&W is physically longer that 45 colt to help prevent accidents.
I respect an individual's right not to protect their own self interests, but don't expect me to stand with the sheep while wolves still hide in the grass.
