Rifle competitions around Erie, PA

Hello,

I am looking for some sort of rifle competition around my area. I would be willing to drive an hour or two but no more really. It does not have to be a ranked match or anything. I just want to go to some sort of event where you shoot with a bunch of people and have the shots scored. I have a 308 bolt rifle set up for bench or prone shooting with a bipod that I shoot out to 500yds now. Anyone know of anything around me, I can't seem to find anything.

Thanks

One type of match you might want to try are the "ground hog" matches. I'll bet these same clubs have other long range matches as well. A quick read of the attached link showed matches in Lawrence Co. and Ridgeway.

Good luck!

Thank you for that. I would never of found it. That one in ridgeway looks real nice, google maps says its 2hrs away, so that is doable.

Yeah, I've never shot there but I've heard that Ridgeway has a great facility. I know that they hold NRA sanctioned silhouette and black powder matches there. The post showing the long range silhouette targets looked pretty awesome! Plus the drive over there should take you through some beautiful country.

An acquaintance of mine was in to the groundhog matches big time, and shot at the Lawrence Co. range regularly. That should also be within your striking distance of Erie.

Check out the Solon Sportsmen Association. They actually shoot out of Andover, OH. http://solonsportsmen.org/
