It's quite sad to have to admit this. I haven't even picked up my current purchase and I'm already planning the next purchase. Sad..sad..sad, indeed. However, I just came home from Shooter's Supply in Lyndon after taking a good, long look at the new (or fairly new) Titanium Tomcat. This is a nice little pistol! After crossing Tomcats off my list for years (Tamara being the only gunnie with a 100% Tomcat), these titanium ones are beautiful. And, it's not only looks! When I tipped up the barrel, it didn't "wobble" around like the previous models I've tried. The barrel is TIGHT. The slide to frame fit is perfect and the safety is positive. As a matter of fact, I couldn't find a single thing wrong or shoddy with the Ti Tomcats. Plus, the gray grips are striking. A Louisville LEO was in the store and he told me that the new Tomcats have been put back on the "approved list". Louisville SIU Officers all carry new Tomcats as back-ups. I'm impressed. I think Tomcats deserve another chance.

I had a Titanium Tomcat for a short time. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the gun however I ended up selling it and my Seecamp (sold all my guns in .32 and .25 caliber). It fit my hand well, functioned 100% with different types of ammo (range and hollowpoint) and seemed to be well made. The manual states that the magazine is different than a normal Tomcat mag (gives you a specific part number) and that the normal Tomcat mag can damage the Titanium Tomcat. I called Beretta to order some extra mags back in October/November and they did not have any. Said to call back the end of December. You may want to check into the availability of magazines for the TI Tomcat. Someone else reported they used a regular tomcat mag and it seemed to function OK but I wasn't willing to risk breaking my gun by using a mag that Beretta specifically stated not to use. I beleive I paid $429 + tax for my TI Tomcat. Don't know what they're going for now but it was extremely difficult to sell/trade. Seems everyone wants a Seecamp or NAA for some reason.

Your problem selling your Ti Tomcat was probably due to it's size. (Or perhaps it's prevous reputation.) It's quite a bit bigger than my Seecamp. I laid them side to side on a mouse pad. Guardians would even be quite a bit smaller. I wouldn't exactly call the Tomcat a "pocket pistol". A small belt gun might be a better term. But still, the Ti Tomcat is one fine looking .32!

I have a steel tomcat that is runs flawless. I considered getting a titanium until I saw how much bulk was added. The slide is almost twice as thick as my steel version. My barrel does wabble when it is opened but not when it is locked in place and the accuracy is good for such a small gun.

You say you have a steel Tomcat that runs flawlessly? Is it one of the new "wide body" stainless Tomcats, or has mass been added to the titanium version "only" for some reason?

Since it has a Ti frame, I see no reason why its slide would be thicker. The slide shouldn't be any thicker than those with an aluminum frame. Could be wrong, never seen one, being in CA.

I don't know why the mass was added to the slide, I was wanting one till I saw it at the gun show. Wow. The frame seems the same width as mine but the slide is twice as thick.
My tomcat is just a blued steel. I have shot mainly Hydra shok, Silvertips and ball through it. (don't know the origin of the ball guy gave it too me.) Now I haven't put 10,000 rounds through it but I have put at least 200 or so.

I have well over 600 rounds through my SS "widebody" Tomcat with ZERO problems of any sort. It has proven to be reliable with my carry ammo (S&B ball) and has plenty of accuracy at close range. I have sorta been surprised that so many folks complain when my own experience has been 100% positive.

Just because it's back on the "approved" list does not mean to get out and get one.

It's just a bad design from the get go.

That's why they have a rep for being jammomatics.and making it lighter, hmmmmm, that may make it even worse unless you load some very hot 32 acp ball down it's chamber.

For 32 acp, get a KT P-32 or a Seecamp or a NAA Guardian.

Berretta makes some fine guns and shotguns like the 92 and the Cougars.

But anything with Cat on the end of the name is not worth risking your life on.

I'd remove the KT P-32 from that list. It remains a good idea that has been poorly executed. 'Til the term "fluff n' buff" isn't automatically associated with it, the P-32 will remain nothing but a cute range toy, IMO. I have one, it's gone back to KT a couple times. My neighbor has one. Same story. My brother had one. Same story. The whole KT line is directly descended from the Grendel, which was, itself, a POS.

I'm with Thisaway on this. I have had nothing but good experinces with my tomcat. My friend bought one on my recommendation and hasn't had a day of trouble out of it. Because of my job it is the gun I carry the most.

Add me to list of 3032 owners with no problems. I got it used, so I don't know how many total rounds through it, but I've never had a FTF with it. It doesn't seem to mater the brand of ammo, it all works.

i'll assume that my tomcat is a "wideframe" SS, it fits tight in QB's old ti tomcat holster....
