Still looking for S&W used... been traveling for holidays so my search has slowed alittle...

Are you looking for a 6 shot snub? Most of the newer 5 shots are of the lightweight design, except maybe the Ruger SP 101.
The Armscor 206 is a 6 shot and holsters and aftermarket grips made for the Colt Detective Special should fit. Not sure about long term reliability if you are going to put several thousand rounds through it.

For a new pistol, the Armscor 206 is about the only one I can think of for under $300 and meets all 3 criteria

I'd take the Rossi 461 any day, personally. Rossi revolvers are decent with good triggers...didn't say GREAT, just good triggers. They tend to be a little heavy, but smooth. Of course, it's a .357 magnum, but that's a good thing. It'll still shoot .38s.

The Rossis I've owned have been quite accurate, too. They can be had at academy for under 300 bucks.

The Rossi is a good choice. I didn't know the 461 was selling at around $300 though. That's a good price.

My dealer has a nice S&W model 10 4" in case for 300 He has to clean the case top when I leave . Wrong time of year Christmas

Ive had a couple Rossi revolvers . never been any trouble .

Sorry to be so late in responding but I hadn't been back to visit the thread until now. The guns Bud's sold were reimported from the Victoria Police Department in Australia. They apparently kept track of the guns in their inventory with little barcode stickers like the one in the photo. I have seen other pix posted of the VPD guns and they all had the little QR codes.
