Yesterday I started putting together a lower kit from PSA on an Anderson lower. The front take down pin was oversize and the slot and the flat part on the head did not line up. I had to grind it to fit, the same thing with Bolt catch. Other parts fit poorly and were roughly finished as well. Fortunately I had some spare parts and had an upgraded trigger because that looked really bad.
The stock rattled too. Some parts looked like bad Chinese stuff.
The Delton kit I put together was nice, everything fit and looked nice. Same with the DPMS parts I have used. No more PSA for me.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. In a half a dozen PSA Classic LPKs I have never had and issue.

I'd be more suspect of the anderson lower. Never had an issue with any PSA parts.

I recently built with all of my parts being doublestar, anderson, and psa. My doublestar parts were used and were perfect. My Anderson parts were new and were perfect. My psa bcg had to have the retaining pin removed and a new one put in, the one that came with it stuck out and was binding on something in the upper. No big deal as I have plenty cotter pins in the junk drawer, but a small frustration.

Yes PSA needs a shot at correcting the issue. If it is a common issue they may need to recall a lot run. I would not want to take chances with out of spec lpk parts, especially triggers or safeties. They would accept partial liability for rebranding the faulty product if it malfunctioned and injured someone or did significant property damage.

PSA, if anything, should be experienced with correction of customer issues such as that^

I have had 2 LPKs that had out of spec parts in them a couple of years ago. I ended up throwing them in the trash and that was the last time I bought anything from them. It seems like most people have pretty good luck with their parts but I didn't.

My few dealings with PSA have been just fine. I did buy an Anderson LPK from a dealer that was missing an entire bag of components, the safety, detent and spring to be exact.

Contacted the dealer and Anderson, Anderson made it right and I had the parts priority mail in just a couple days.

Good people down there in Hebron, KY. Lived not far from there when I was in high school. I'd still happily do business with them again.

As has been said what about the anderson lower, that is more likely. Nothing against those lowers as I have some.

Cheap chinese parts from PSA? And people are startled? LOL, yes some of PSA's kits have garbage in them.

That's the risk you take. You can still order name brand and Made in the US parts kits.

Their classic LPK is marked as made in USA.

OP, out of curiosity did you pick up a "freedom" line LPK?

I only ask because I just ordered an A2 build kit from them for $125, when they had a "freedom" A2 kit for $99. It seemed like the stock assembly was the same, the only difference being freedom line LPK vs Classic LPK.

Considering the stock assembly itself is $75 that would mean $25 for an LPK including FCG. Seemed TGTBT.

I recently bought a inexpensive complete PSA kit and installed it on a new Anderson lower. My first assembly, all parts fit perfectly.

Very possible the parts in question are an anomaly.

I put together three Anderson lowers w/ PSA LPKs last weekend. I've had all the parts since around July of last year. The LPKs came w/ the ALG ACT triggers and they didn't have the Freedom line out yet. Well I didn't see them anyway. Point of this is that all three went together. The finish thickness on the lowers gave me issues more than than the LPKs. I had the same issues w/ Anderson uppers and non PSA parts so I'm confident in saying it was the finish on the uppers and lowers.

I did not realize they had different quality parts, they said PSA in the ad, they came in a PSA box, the bags were labeled PSA and the stock said Palmetto State Amory on it. I also wondered if it could be the Anderson lower to a degree, but still the parts were poor quality and not in spec. I can't exchange the parts as they are in the lower and seem to function ok after some hand fitting. I am concerned about the PSA bolt I bought separately. I am going to run some ammo through it and see how it runs. I am already thinking of a new build with better parts. Kinda like Potato chips isn't it.

I have purchased PSA parts for years building rifles for myself and friends, on one occasion an incorrect upper was sent but a simple call had the proper one enroute and theirs on the way back. All parts i have purchased ( i stick with their Premium parts) have been of impeccable quality and without assembly issues. Yesterday i ordered six Freedom rifle kits and have no concerns that PSA will not provide the same high quality i have always received.
Perhaps if the OP had taken the time to discuss his difficulties with PSA prior to condemning them replacement parts could have been provided. I cannot imagine how many packages leave PSA each day and satisfaction rate seems to be very high.

PSA BCG's are very rough. But they are low cost and easily cleaned up and made perfect. I don't have pictures of deburring, polishing the bore, cam pin and cam way. But you can get a mental image.

Recently finished 2 PSA 9mm carbine kits on Anderson lowers. Parts fit well and functions flawlessly.

Had some concerns about reliability of feeding from magwell block but the magwell block fit to Anderson lower was very snug without play and 9mm rounds fed reliably in new AR Stoner magazines.

Very happy with the builds and will be buying more PSA/Anderson products.

I would have contacted PSA and allowed them to correct issues if I ran into any.

Too late. Parts are installed.
The beauty of AR's is that you can pop them apart quite easily and all the internals, including any grinding and hand-fitting, would be visible.

So I guess I'll chalk this thread up to "internet stories."

My understanding is that L.W. Schneider makes the LPK's for PSA. They are a military contractor.

Personally, I've never had an issue with lower parts from PSA.

My BCG, a PSA "standard" one, is very nice. Looks well made and the chrome lining looks good. I've only shot a couple of mags through the rifle, but it had no issues. Not bad for a PSA "Blem" lower, and a PTAC upper with a PSA BCG and a no name charging handle.

A couple magazines is certainly a lot of testing
